I have several of the breathable poly Nikkys, and am generally quite happy with them. However, we are moving towards full-time wool, so I am thinking about replacing the Nikkys we have with wool versions of themselves.

What I use Nikkys for at this point is actually a little strange, but I size way down (putting my 22 and 24 pound 16-month-olds into the six month size), and use a trim lay-in soaker from various different QD AIOs. It is the trimmest system I've found, and is very easy, and I like how the Nikkys are more breathable and less wicking than PUL.

The only trouble with this system is that if poop happens, poop DEFINITELY gets all over the cover. This is fine with poly nikkys, but I don't know about wool. It would be pretty intense.

I know that Nikky wool can supposedly go in the washing machine. Is this true? Does it make the cover get really stiff?

hmmmm, believe it or not, i have a six-month size on the way to try on my 14-month old in the very same fashion. i'll be watching to see if anyone else has tried it. i really like the cotton ones so i wanted to try the wool.

I have several of the wool nikky's and like them a lot. I have washed them in the washer, on the gentle cycle and they have never given me any trouble. All are still really soft. HTH!

I liked all the Nikky covers & used them with my girls. I did find that the wool fit a bit differently than the poly & cotton ones~~I found that they ran a little smaller so I would size up.!! Other than that, they were a nice cover. I never had a problem!

Are the Nicky wool covers nice and trim for under clothing? I have some gorgeous hemp contours from Lucy's Hope Chest but am trying to find a cover to work with them. This would make a perfect mock WIO but it has to fit under jeans! Also, who stocks them?

I would say that the wool Nikkys are not as trim as the poly. Over a fitted, I imagine it would be a little bulky for jeans. I think a jersey cover would be thinner. I used a Barefoot Baby diaper folded in thirds though so a fitted may be more trim.
