Is it too thick and hot or not? Where do you live if you are using it?

As for too hot - I don't know but I sure hope not. I just ordered a few skeins to have my Mom knit up some shorts. I have a nanny-made soaker from fishermans wool and my little guy never feels too warm in them.

If they do seem to heavy I'll have her add some and make them into longies!

We've been using it some, and it is really hot here hasn't been a problem so far, actually seems a bit better than our pul.
I dont think its any thicker then most other wool yarns available out there.
One of the (many) fabulous qualities of wool is that it breathes super well in the heat. Bet you've never heard of a sheep keeling over from heat exhaustion!

Me, we have three shorts made with it and it is great!! Mind you we do not get over 20 celcius most days. :LOL
we have two soakers made with it and so far it's been great. it's running in the very high 80's here and ds seems comfy...oh yeah and i swear it is leak proof. I love those soakers

I have 2, i lovethem. We live in arizona & it is hot here!! I have no issues since it is more breathable then PUl. I've had people ask & i tell them that i would rather my babies be in breathable wool then sposies!!!
Last week I made a pair of soaker shorts with Blue Faced Leicester and this week I am making a pair with Peace Fleece. The BFL is thicker/heavier than the PF but J has no complaints in wearing them, believe me it is hot here too. Maybe not Arizona hot but a lot hotter than it normally is this time of year.
We have a couple of woolies knitted in PF & have more on the way. I
it! I haven't found that it is too hot. FWIW, it's been around 90 degrees with probably about 75% humidity (if not more) here for the past week.

Here too! More like 90% humidity though! Luke doesn't seem to mind the soaker w/ PF at all..and I know I
it for nighttime!! Nothing can get through that thing! :LOL

We use it all the time in the heat. I LOVE PF! It is great for outdoor play because it is nice and sturdy. It doesn't pill, holds its shape beautifully and is still much cooler than PUL.

I don't have any shorts made with PF but I totally agree that it is super for holding in the wetness! I have never had any leaks with PF!!! It is awesome for heavy wetters.
