A week ago my right ring finger became tingly and numb. The next day it spread to my right middle finger. My hand feels swollen but it doesn't look like it is. It's difficult/uncomfortable to make a fist. I think I have reduced strength in my hand/arm and my whole arm feels heavy. Yesterday my right pinky started to tingle a bit. I went to my doc (who I don't think is terribly bright) and he ordered labs and an MRI. My b12 and thyroid were fine, as was the 3rd thing he tested for, but I can't remember what that was. The MRI of my brain was fine, but the MRI of my neck showed a slightly bulging disk. I've been referred to a neuro next.

Prior to my symptoms in my hand, I had other symptoms that I kind of ignored. I've been forgetful and feeling like I might have ADD or something. I can't seem to pay attention, like when one of my kids is telling me about something. Halfway through their explanation I realize I have no idea what they're talking about. I've had to ask them to repeat stuff a lot lately. I've been dizzy off and on and clumsy. I sometimes feel like I have trouble coming up with the word I want to use and a very rare feeling like I can't pronounce words right. I've left my keys in the outside of the lock of our front door A LOT lately. It's not normal for me to do things like that and I've been doing a lot of things like that.

So, at first I was thinking it might just be carpal tunnel and lack of sleep and low blood sugar and being busy (I have 3 young dcs, one is only 11mo). But I was reading that the pinky finger isn't usually involved since the nerve for the pinky doesn't go through the carpal tunnel. The disk in my neck could be it, but people can have bulging disks without symptoms, so that could be unrelated. And I have never had all these other symptoms like this.

Also, maybe totally unrelated, but about 5 years ago I had a full neuro work up. I had a sudden onset of wierd visual stuff after my 2nd baby was born. Kind of like an aura without the migraine. I've had a handful of what I'm pretty sure were migraines in my life, some with an aura. The neuro didn't find anything. My MRI this week showed no changes from the one 5 years ago.

So, what do you think?

Also, do you think there should be more urgency here? I just feel like it's been a week already that something has been VERY wrong with my hand and I don't even have a neuro appt scheduled yet. (By the time I got the # from the nurse, the neuro's office was closed, so I'm out of luck until monday now.)

ETA: The neuro's office just called me back and I have an appt at 9am Monday, so that makes me feel a little better.
