I have been experiencing very bad back pains lately after I walk some.

I also have ligament pains, specially if I sneeze or move too fast.

And I am only 9.5 weeks!
I have never experienced those until at least 16-20 weeks.

Anybody else?

I'm having some stiffness in my lower and mid back particularly after standing or walking. I've been meaning to make an appointment with my chiropractor. I know I'll have to start going more frequently, it always helps so much during pregnancy.

Yes, in fact my back was one reason I suspected I might be pregnant. I really screwed up my back with my last pregnancy, to the point that unless I was wearing one of those belly girdles, I could barely walk. I can already feel my back acting up again, I think the hormones really throw me off whack.

No back pain yet, but the round ligament pain is starting. I had a hard time pulling up to a sitting position using my abs. The swiveling has begun.

I'm not even 6.5w and my lower back has been pretty stiff for a week. I started sleeping with a buckwheat pillow under my knees and it has helped tremendously. I can only imagine that it will get worse soon.

Not sure what the ligament pains are like either, but they dont sound fun!

I definitely recommend prenatal massage therapy and chiropractic care!! I saw a chiropractor throughout my first pregnancy and it helped so much! If paying for chiropractic and massage is an issue for you, you may be able to find practitioners that will work out a payment plan for you. I offer reduced rates for pregnant women who want to see me throughout their pregnancy so if they want a series of massages they end up getting a large discount. Your body and peace of mind are worth it and it will also effect your baby if you are stressed and in pain.

This is my 3rd pregnancy and everything is happening much sooner this time. Here is the info cut and pasted from babycenter

Round ligament pain generally refers to a brief, sharp, stabbing pain or a longer-lasting dull ache that pregnant women commonly feel in the lower abdomen or groin, starting in the second trimester.

You may feel round ligament pain as a short jabbing sensation if you suddenly change position, such as when you're getting out of bed or out of a chair or when you cough, roll over in bed, or get out of the bathtub. You may feel it as a dull ache after a particularly active day - when you've been walking a lot or doing some other physical activity.

The round ligaments surround your uterus in your pelvis. As your uterus grows during pregnancy, the ligaments stretch and thicken to accommodate and support it. These changes can occasionally cause pain on one or both sides of your abdomen.

You may feel the pain starting from deep inside your groin, moving upward and outward on either side to the top of your hips. The pain is internal, but if you were to trace it on your skin, it would follow the bikini line on a very high-cut bathing suit.

My lower back was really aching by the time I finished a two-hour trip to the grocery store yesterday. It seems way too early for this kind of stuff!

Generally having round ligament pain is a sign that your body is aching for calcium. 1800 mg cal/900 mag is what we have the pregnant mamas I work with take and it clears it up (as well as constipation, difficulty sleeping, achy muscles...). Maybe give it a shot? Some mamas do find help from the belly bands as well.

I'm thinking I might need to pick one up this time around. For some reason, my body stores fat like I'm living in a foodless apocalypse while I'm nursing, so my belly is already flabby at the get go. Not nursing anymore, but just had started losing the weight from it when I got knocked up
so lame!

Thanks for that info about Ca/Mg. I'm going to try it. Been having constipation issues (NEVER have had this issue with my other pregnancies) too, so it will be interesting if the Ca/Mg can take care of both problems.
