What can you tell me about your medical care etc there?

My dh & I have been considering moving for awhile now, and this is one of the places on the list. Probably near Denver.

We're in the Denver area.... Not sure what kind of services you're looking for... We feel like we've had good access to lots of health care professionals. Mostly just over time and by referrals from friends. You can PM me if you want specifics.
Here's our list of docs:

Epileptology (ped and adult)
Sleep doc (ped and adult)
GI (ped and adult)
Metabolics/Genetics (which is a big reason to consider CO actually)
Endocrinology (ped and adult)
OT, PT, SLP
and potentially cardiology

I will PM you.
We lived in Colorado for 6 years (Colorado Springs, Lakewood and Castle Rock (Denver Suburbs). But I am not sure of Specialists. Have you looked at Denver Children's website? They have a brand new facility that is suppose to be awesome.

BTW, we love Colorado and miss it terribly.
I did find their website. Unfortunately the urologist that I thought we would work with left last September to move to Seattle.

I need a really experienced person to handle my little one's issues...but it's not like we are moving in a month, yk?
I can give you several names for docs in some of those areas... One thing I just thought about is when we first moved here 7 years ago. We moved from Rochester, MN where we had access to the best- Mayo Clinic. I remember feeling a little overwhelmed here because other than the Children's Hospital, many docs are in small practices. I was so used to going to one facility that had everything. I feel like I need to really research every time I need to find a new doctor. Again, for us I think having friend's referrals helped a ton. I know how overwhelming all of this can be! I wish you the best of luck in your decision! Colorado is amazing- we love it here!!
With that list it would be wise to stay close to Denver. Denver is where almost everything is at. I'm on the other side of CO so we have to travel if we need anything other then basic medical care.

The Star Center is in Denver, it was founded by Lucy ******, they handle mostly SPD kids, but often SPD with combo with other things. No idea if that is even on your radar but the OT is supposed to be awesome. We'll be living in Denver for a while this fall so that DD1 can do OT through them.
I'm in the Denver area. I go to a Holistic doctor up in Boulder. He is great. I often ask my homschool group for referals and so far everyone they have suggested are great and inline with our way of parenting. We have a wonderful OT at Amaryllis Therapy network and also a great child pyschologist. Hope this helps!
