Is there anyway to keep a diaper on? We've tried different types of clothing/sleepers at night and different diapers and cover combos and can't seem to keep our oldest dressed. He is 3.5 yrs old (dev. delayed about a year, and not pt yet). We are working with potty training and he totally understands what the potty is and pee/poop. He can tell me when he has to go and when he has already gone and he just recently doesn't like being dirty or wet and either takes his diaper off himself or asks me to change him. So, is this a huge sign of being ready to learn to use the potty or does he just like being naked and peeing and pooping in his bed? This is so frustrating because I never know what I'm going to find in the morning!
Anyone's toddler take off all their clothes and diaper?

I would say that its his way of saying he doesn't like to be dirty. I know to you it probably doesn't make much sense since he goes in his bed, which means he's still "dirty" but to him, its different. I would work on potty training more, especially at night time.

My toddler prefers to run pantless at home. I think she feels more comfortable that way. We were at a LLL meeting recently and she stripped down to her undies!

At night I was sneaking her diapers on after she fell asleep because she refused to wear them and I didn't want to wake up to a wet mattress at 3am. Anyways, she'd wake up during the night and take them off, throw them on the floor and say "POTTY!" and go back to sleep. We used it as a chance to potty train at night. I lay about three cloth diapers under her bum, and take her to the potty when I get up to pee during the night, and so far no wet beds

My DS was/is the same way. He got to a point when he would pee and poop on the floor instead of his diaper. It just about drove me nuts, but his potty use was sparce. I encouraged potty training, but here we are 3 months into the whole process and we are just now having accident free days. They don't happen everyday..but they have happend several times in the past two weeks.
