A friend of a friend has a 32 weeker who is having really serious issues and is currently being transferred to a different hospital because of heart and apnea issues that they can't seem to figure out. (My friend has been calling me a lot to get ideas on how she can help her friend with the preemie.)

The baby's heart rate is getting really fast before an apnea spell. Does anyone know of what might cause something like this? The baby is also starting to not tolerate her tube feedings well, and initially she was even latching on and nursing some.

Is the baby active before the apnea spells? My trach son used to do this. He would get very active and work himself up then when he was starting to "come down" he would get a little too relaxed and go apneic
