Yesterday's threads on MM soakers got me thinking, I'm curious about the appeal of these soakers. What makes them so great (no flames please, just really curious)? Fit? Yarn? Based on the soakers up for sale yesterday at HC I guess I just prefer less contrast in my colorways, like this.

Thanks mamas!

For ME, my merino MMs are my softest wool. The artistry to them is incredibly good and I adore the bright colors. Morwenna takes a lot of time making sure every wool is perfect. I've only had customs from her except for my first pair which I bought used from a friend so the fit is pretty much what I told her. :LOL

Emmie's MM soaker is by far the softest wool I've ever felt, it's comparable to handpaintedyarn, and I adore the colorways!
I really like the leg openings, how they're more "up front" instead of on the sides, as well.

I have 3 MMs right now. Every single pair I have ever had has been flawless. Colors are stunning, fit is great. Not to say that other more attainable soakers are not as good, I have just had great success with my MMs. Morwenna is great to work with too.

Well, I've ever only had one MM and it was off the TP
so I guess I'm not the expert, but for me it's all about the colors. I love bold, gorgeous colors on my son and anyone who's got them has my attention! I'm also a sucker for soft. However, I simply cannot spend the amount that these things go for at auction, and I will never score one off HC so I just look at the pictures.

ETA: Oh yeah, and it's kind of silly but I love her business name, makes me want to buy one even more so that when people ask where I got it I have something cool to tell them.
: But I'm probably the only nerd who has ever thought that, or who will admit it at least!

:LOL I love the name too!!

Thanks mamas, I figured there was something to her soakers, they always seem to be in such high demand. I took a look through her gallery and there are lots of soakers that appeal to my prefered color style too!! So yay!

I just wanted to add that they hold up really, really well, too! My soakers from Morwenna -- even ones I got used -- have held their shape, kept their softness, and remained less pilly over time than any other soaker I own.

Plus, did anyone mention that the work is perfection?!? Oh yeah, I think they did.
The work is perfection -- not a thing out of place, the sizing is fantastic, never any mistakes, just perfection. And I, too, love the colorways! That red sm/med at the last stocking is TDF!

All the stuff everyone else said is true, customer service, great yarn, flawless knitting, etc.

But for me the biggest thing is the fit. My boy is big but has a tiny waist and tushy and low rise - super chubby thighs, and MM just FIT him so well. I dont know how she does it but her pattern is great.

Just chiming in with everyone else... I fell in love with a pair of MM shorts on the TP and I had to see if they were really as wonderful as everyone says. Sadly (LOL) they really are! It is soooo soft, and the colors are gorgeous, and the fit is as good as the shorts I have custom knit for my DD. I will probably never have the money to buy more, but the ones I have are definitely worth it!
