Just want to see how all the April babys are doing! Dajel was 6 months old yesterday!!! I cant beleive how fast it is going, its crazy. She is soooo big(long), she is crawling around all over the place, mostly the "army crawl" but she is quick, I cant leave her alone for a minute. She is quite demanding and is constantly "talking" and yelling ,I think she is going to be a very loud and hyper kid. Her dad still is at age 25! But she is a gem and I love her more everyday, she has an awesome sense of humor- laughs all the time. She still doesnt sleep through the night, which is driving me crazzzzy, but I just tell myself that someday she will and this too shall pass etc..!
No solids yet, but I am thiking of starting a couple things soon, Ive started working a few hours a week so maybe she can have some solids while Im away. I am looking forward to the first snow fall, she is going to love it! Well her patience is running out, she needs a playmate so I gotta run.. Looking forward to hearing about all the other April babys!

He can manuever all over, so I have to keep an eye out! His development continues to amaze me. He is very inquisitive and loves to find new things. No solids yet, but I plan on starting in the next week or so...

We have 2 weeks to go before the 6 month milestone, but it sure is exciting! DS is cackling, and flirting with everyone she meets. She can't sit up or crawl yet, but I am sure that will come soon.

We started rice cereal, and she is in to it (literally). What a crazy experience. I can't wait to see her face when we give her veggies!

Hope everyone else is happy and healthy!

My ds was 6 months on the 15th. He is such a sweetie! He is a very happy baby. I love watching him learn! So, far he's done everything earlier than his sister. He sat up a few days after he was 5 months and started trying to crawl a few days before six. He can crawl a few paces at a time, but he prefers to be a frog. He'll get on his hands and knees like he's trying to crawl and he rocks back and forth. Then he uses his legs to jump forwars, which usually results in a nose dive. He has already started solids, he just couldn't wait any longer. He loves the carrots I make him. The only other thing we've tried is squash, but he throws up, just like he does when he eats cereal. He is just a big sweetie! He loves to watch his older sister. And he just learned to give kisses. He is our little joy!

My dd was 6 months 10/11. She is keeping me very busy, crawling, pulling up on everything, and starting to cruise. Yikes! I am scrambling to put doors on our cupboards and make things a little safer. She is a great joy!

It has been a while since I have posted any thing!

It is great to read where other baby's are at that are the same age as my little girl. She just turned 6 months on the 20th. She started grabing at food, so we started the cereal and she loves it.

She is not put down enough to learn to crawl, but she sits up good (for 5 minutes then some one picks her up) And my son who is 7 loves to play with her, but has been caught picking her up a couple times and droped her once. But no lumps or bumbs and she cried for a couple seconds then laughed. So I figure not to much damage. Now ds hasn't picked her up. but I am sure when he gets the urge he will.

My little dd is so smiley all the time. It is great.

Well I do not check these very often, but I hope to read more on how your babys are coming a long. Love to here other stories.

I'm new to this message board and I hope you all don't mind the intrusion. My daughter, Morgan, was born on the 19th of April. She just turned 6 months old and wow, that was hard. She sits up great on her own and is quite independant already. She has her own little vocabulary of mama, dada, nana and kitty (sounds like kiggy). She rolls all over the place but I don't think she's interested in crawling. We haven't started solids yet but I think we are going to go out and get some cereal in the next few days because she is very interested in all we eat and her appetite has gotten a lot larger in the past 2 weeks or so.

I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Well, Amber will be 6 mo. on Friday! This morning, she cut her 1st tooth and can also pull herself up to stand. She also began sitting by herself at about 4 1/2 mo.-5 mo. and prefers to sit and "talk" rather than be on her tummy.

LOVES the rice cereal, but it doesn't like her. So mashed up bananas are better for her. She is very social and adores her big brother and other babies/kids. She is though getting some stranger anxiety if someone different holds her too long.

Warmly~

This is fun!

My DD will be 6 months on Saturday the 25th. I can hardly believe it! She's also a very smiley baby and quite laid back, just like her Daddy.

We've started some solids, just because she was grabbing for everything we would eat & stare at me with her mouth wide open & drool! I was starting to feel guilty not feeding her any of the real stuff. She loves to chew on banana thru the baby-safe feeder thing. She doesn't eat much & I haven't noticed it affecting her momma milk intake at all yet. I've been making all her food, which I just love doing. She likes acorn squash the best so far.

She's sort of sitting up - tripod style and she's rolling everywhere, but not quite crawling yet. She's not even attempting to pull herself up yet, and no real words yet either. (Kelly, I'm amazed that your baby's got words comin' out already!!) Lots of ba ba ba - which we are interpreting as the beginning of the Beach Boys song, Barbara Ann! :LOL

She's also cutting her first two teeth - both the bottom ones are coming in at the same time - poor baby! She was sleeping thru the night, but not now that she's teething!

Hello! Ds will be 6mo on Friday. He is just growing too fast! He is still ebf, no solids yet. I'm outting it off as long as possible... hoping to avoid as long as possible to avoid allergies and diabetes. He's doing great on just bm anyway, so I hate to mess with that!

I think maybe his gut must be maturing because his poopies smell different now. LOL

He's trying to crawl so hard, I think one day soon he'll just take off! He can't quite sit up yet, but I think that will happen soon as well.

He adores his big sister, they have so much fun rolling around on the floor!

As much as I hate the TV being on, they both love watching Baby van Gogh together.
:

He reaches and grabs everything these days! Hair, clothes, stuff on the table... and he loves to help me type.

My April baby was 6 months on the 16th. She is cawling like a champ! So far she has gotten stuck behind the couch, and just in the last 2 days has decided that she can explore the rest of the house on her own. I can't leave her for a minute! She is eating solids, and enjoying every bite! She also pulls up on just about anything, and actually stood for 5 seconds a few days ago
It seems like time is going WAY too fast!

my girlie will be 6mos on the 29th and she is ebf right now, but i am planning some first avocado for her half birthday because she is soooo ready, her fascination with watching me eat is very funny to my relatives. still wobbly sitting up, and i don't see any interest in crawling soon (i confess to major relief ugh, babyproofing, and DH just undoes some of it. urgh). lots of drooling and teething woes but i don't see any white nubs just yet. the infant seat days are numbered. what a fun thread!

Glad to see an April thread. Cosette was 6 months on the 8th. She's keeping me busy, crawling every where and pulling up to the standing position on everything.

Still nursing like a champ. We have started offering her tiny pieces of our table food, but that's about it. No official "baby solids" or anything. But I'm thinking that I might avoid the whole "baby food" thing this time around anyway... We'll see... She LOVES to eat and now every time she sees me eating, she'll crawl right over and beg...

I forget from first time around -- what are the foods that I definitely need to avoid? Milk, eggs... anything else???

Carly turned 6 months on the 14th. Amazing how fast the time goes. She's sitting up all the time and still not all that interested in rolling over but she does it when she's tired of being on her tummy. She's working on back to front which she'll figure out soon. She's starting to try and pull herself up so we had to lower the crib yesterday. She's happy and reaches for absolutely everything.

I'm still bf which she loves but we started her easing her into food about 6 weeks ago. She's loved everything so far except for peas. Remember in the movie "Big" when Tom Hanks ate the caviar and took a napkin to wipe his tongue? Well, DD had a similar reaction.
It was hilarious so needless to say, we moved on to other tastes. I don't like peas either so i can't really blame her.

No teeth yet but lots of drool and she cna never have enough fingers or toys to chew on. Now if she'll only sleep through the night... we're slowly getting there.

Sahm, other things to avoid citrus, berries, peanut butter, honey. Those were the biggies from the doctor that I can think of at the moment.

Glad all the other April babies are doing so great!!

Free thinker, My dd was also 6 months on the 16th

She's doing great, growing so much, "talking" all day long, she says: nana, nene, rrrrrrr, ama. She's not crawling yet but she bounces over her knees and shoulders, and if she wants to go to some place, she will roll until she gets there. She's so funny

She's investigating everything and we already have to be very carefull with everything in the house. She likes to pet the cats, and laughes so much... the poor cats ran away from her:LOL .
She's also discovering how to knock doors... very cute, and also throws her toys thousand of times so dh and I have to pick them up... I don't know how she discovered this
:
She sleeps from 9 or 10pm to 7:30 or 8 am.
We already started solids, she loves all veggies and rice cereal but her favorite is the yoghurt... we were afraid of alergic reactions but everything seems ok.
Sahm, about the foods you need to avoid usually they say anythink with milk but in my case yoghurt was ok. Also homecooked carrots, because of the high content in nitrates (which I learned here
)

Hmmm.... thanks for all the info. I had forgotten about that carrot stuff. Good thing to remember. Now I'm not sure what we will do for solids. We have not been doing anything official, just offering her food off our plates (if suitable) and she has been becoming more and more "beggy" for food. We'll see. I'll have to have a discussion with dh...

I've only been on the board for a couple of weeks, but I have an April baby, so I thought I'd chime in... Casey turned 6 mos. on 10/10, so she's 6.5 now, I suppose! She sits up beautifully but hasn't start crawling or "motivating" yet. She doesn't even roll over much, though she can if she wants to, and she hates tummy time. She's been loving the rice cereal and bananas, though she just said NO to butternut squash (nonverbally, with a horrible face!). Sweet potatoes are next on the list. She still nurses like crazy, usually every 1 1/2-2 hours, and she weighs about 16 lbs. Sometimes she feels like 20!

She loves us to read books to her, and even has a favorite--"Fluffy Duckling." We can recite lines of it to her and it instantly calms her if she's upset--she just stops crying and stares at us in wonder! She also recognizes songs that she's heard before, even if it isn't us singing them. I had sung "Amazing Grace" to her a couple of times, and she heard it on a tv commercial with a man's voice singing, and she just stopped playing and stared at the tv until the song was over. Not that I want her to watch tv, but I thought this was pretty cool!

It's just amazing how quickly they develop and move from one stage to another. It was sad when she left her "newborn" phase behind, but this stage is so much fun to interact with. I'll miss it when she's suddenly on the move and has no time for mommy anymore!

By way of introductions, I'm Andi, married for 9+ years to my husband, and Casey is our first baby. It's such an education!! We live in SE Ohio and are both college instructors. Nice to meet all of you! I love reading about how different all the six-monthers are. I have two friends who had babies within two weeks after Casey and even among the three of them there are noticeable differences. Very cool!
