OK, I am in for decluttering and ridding my house of 500 items this time!

Focus areas:
1) Closets (clothes, shoes and linens)
2) Knick-knacks
3) Garage and outdoor storage -- it's Spring

Here's my list from the weekend:

Took down pack n' play and returned to MIL
Cleaned out 10 pairs of shoes (in boxes) and 2 empty shoe boxes while DD played with some wooden hangers

So, I'm up to 13 so far

Long way to go to 500...

I hope we're all as successful as last month

I'm in again this month

We are moving dd to the bigger bedroom this month so I hope to do some major decluttering.

My goals:

1) empty dd's old room and move her to the new room
2) get baby room set up and organized

Get rid of 500 items.

Didn't do much this weekend, but have an entire week of decluttering planned in the middle of the month.

Good Luck everyone!

I'm 30 weeks pregnant and nesting hardcore already. I'm in!!!

So far today I've freecycled a jar of Betty Crocker points I've never gotten around to using and a bag full of infant clothing hangers. I'll count the hangers as 1 item, so that's 2 . . . 498 to go.

I totally forgot -- I got a Betty Crocker catalog that said they were going out of business, so I recycled my points. I'm just going to count that as 1 (even though it was a LARGE pile of them!)

So, I'm up to 14

I'm in for 200 items.

I want to tackle the hall closet & garage.
I'm in for 100. My goals are toys/playroom, thin the diaper stash and get rid of outgrown kids clothes. Oh and send off my maternity clothes to a pg friend.

Let's make it 200, actually!
Hmm, I'd like to try this! I'll say 100 items (though I'm pretty sure I can do more then that!).

So far this month, I Freecycled a set of dishes (we had THREE sets), and packed up two boxes of clothes and misc. stuff to bring to the thrift store.

My goals are to go through my pile of stuff to list on eBay, and organize the closets (they're big and FULL).
I'm in. This is the first decluttering challenge I've joined here on MDC. We moved a month ago and as I **slowly** unpack I've been decluttering etc.

My goals:(so far... I may add more. I'm feeling pretty ambitious with the warmer weather, lol)
-go through my clothing and donate what doesn't fit (I'm in that postpartum losing weight through bfing so nothing fits stage)
-from the clothes I have that fit I'm going to put together 10 basic mix and match outfits and get rid of the rest (except for gym clothes).
- go through all the boys clothes and get rid of everything that won't fit them this summer and fall. (that's a challenge in itself).
-finish unpacking books and office supplies, bring the desk in the office and organized the office shelves
-pare down plasticware in the kitchen (tupperware and rubbermaid, yuck but I just can't do without them) to only what we use. Everything else goes!

when it's all said and done I'm having a yard sale (my porch is already about 2/3 full of stuff to sell already!!!

I'm in.

I don't count items, but I filled one garbage bag cleaning out our and dd's closets.

I gave one garbage bag to the thrift shop, and I have a Gap bag with hand-me-downs for my niece.

I need to clean out the kitchen cabinets, and my storage closet (I'm washing and preping for storage our skiing an snowboarding clothes.)

Next long stretch of warm days, I'm airing out the basement.

Garden shed is in pretty good shape (nothing much from the fall clean-up.)

I will probably not count items but I'd like to post what I get rid of and read about what others are doing to inspire me to keep going.

I'm also nesting somewhat AND getting ready to move sometime in the near future, since we just bought a house
Don't know exactly when, tho, b/c there are renovations to do before we can move in...

My specific goals:

* Cull the books!
* Get baby stuff organized (not exactly decluttering, but I need to be able to figure out what I have and what I need... especially since I'm getting lots of used clothes pretty soon from my sister!)
* Get rid of paper clutter

W00t!

I could toss that much in paper, alone, prob. I've also got to clean out my closets.

I decluttered my kitchen junk drawers last night, getting rid of a lot of paper napkins (from Subway and such -- why do we keep these? My DH always says he'll use them, but we don't, we use cloth) and a bunch of other completely random pieces of paper...

I'm going to go after my paperbacks today... they have been multiplying in a drawer for awhile. (We pretty much only buy paperbacks when we fly, but that does add up!)
Cleaned out dd's drawers and closet yesterday. Came up with 20+ items to give to a friend with a younger girl. It's in the trunk on its way as we speak!

Also worked on the playroom and Ellie's room. Got rid of lots of junky toys and such. Do you know she had almost 20 strings of marti gras beads? I swear we are the midwest repository of marti gras beads!!!

I think I am at about 45 items, though I am not counting religiously. Today I hope to do some more in the toy department and maybe pack up the maternity clothes.
I think I can do this challenge! (I will help you Alexis if you need it, just ASK)

I will commit to 200 items. I need to finally finish my garage and I easily have that many items in there.

Also, I need to clean out the master bedroom closet. Its a jungle in there. There may be 200 items in there alone!

Kim
Will do, Kim
But right now, I'm feeling pretty good about everything!

LOL, my DH says the same thing about any condiment we get from take out (and since we don't get it often those things sit there FOREVER and God knows how old they are!!!). He also has a stash of paper napkins from fast food stashed in his glovebox (so I know he cheats and gets fast food from time to time. Eww)

OMG, my DH would TOTALLY save condiments, too! I put my foot down on those (especially soy sauce packets) b/c we've had a few burst open and it was UGLY.

Our other problem is that the taqueria we go to gives everyone those packets with a knife, fork, salt and pepper and a napkin. Geesh, are those things useless or what? My DH would also like to save those... I let him put a few in the junk drawer, but then I threw the rest out!
2 bags of garbage gone. Old packages from presents, a decrepit back support for an office chair and miscellaneous broken toys. 25 items.
