I was watching a tv show the other night and heard a comment about how airbags are a hazard for pregnant women. Is this true? Is it only when you get big? Is it only the passenger side? Help! I had never heard that before! Thanks!

You should sit as far back from the airbag as possible at all times when you are pg. Once you get really big it will be impossible but my doc said not to turn them off because the risk of getting in a wreck and injuring yourself really seriously without them was far greater than having them go off and injuring the baby (which is not likely anyway). I had DH drive as much as possible once I got big and when I drove I tilted the steering wheel upwards so I don't think they would have even hit my belly. HTH

I figure if I'm in an accident, my windpipe will be crushed by the seatbelt. I just can't get it to stay off my neck.

Seems to me a drivers' side airbag would have less damaging effects than slamming one's belly into the steering wheel.
