Hello! We'll be on holiday (up from Washington state) in Calgary on Victoria Day, Monday, May 21, 2007.

Will most things be open that day? Obviously, we won't need any government offices. But, we will be wanting to do other things!! Would there be any celebrations in connection with this holiday?

Certainly, anything that makes money from tourists will be open! The zoo for sure. Have you been to Calgary before? Kensington is a really nice little area for shopping. Probably no real celebrations - its more just an excuse to have a holiday in May! I guess its the day we "celebrate" Queen Victoria's birthday

Yean, I think the pnly city in the country that does anything for Victoria Day is Victoria, BC.

But it's always nice to get a long weekend.
