I have 4 MP and it is soo hard to get them that (after looking at a picture of the inside of a LHC) I wondered if they are similar to Lucy's Hope Chest? Anybody know?? Should I keep hunting down MP or try a LHC? TIA

I find the mudpie stride to be much wider than even the regular fit VK, JMO.

I think once you have fallen for a Mudpie work of art, no shoddy knock off ever compares.<br>
Keep looking for Mudpies, that's my motto<br>

Well, I wouldn't consider LHC shoddy, personally. I have both mudpies and LHC and find both to be a very nicely fitting, absorbent side-snap AIO.

I've never seen a Mudpie, but however nice a Mudpie may be, it doesn't take away from the fact that Lucy's Hope Chest are lovely nappies, and sewn beautifully; shoddy is not a word you could have used if you've ever seen one. They are among my very favourites in my stash, and utterly pretty and wick-proof. Becky who makes them is a sweetheart and works terribly hard.

<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/yeahthat.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="yeah that">: I have both, and I love them both. I prefer the Mudpies on my ds and the LHC on my dd. I do find them to be pretty similar, and they are both awesome in fit and quality.

I prefer LHC for several reasons...<br><br>
easier to get <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/thumb.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="thumbs up"><br><br>
less expensive <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/thumb.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="thumbs up"><br><br>
top notch sewing. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/thumb.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="thumbs up"><br><br>
Shoddy knockoff is laughable <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/eyesroll.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="roll">

I think mudpies and LHC are very similar. The only major difference is that mudpies have a wider soaker. LHC has more options (materials, trifold or qd) Only thing is LHC doesn't do side apix aios (yet... I'm working on her....) Becky is wonderful to work with too.<br>
Most of our stash is mudpies and LHC (both size Large FWIW)<br><br>
Valor Kids are super-cute but not nearly absorbant enough for my super soaker. I've had to give them up. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"><br><br>

FYI, VK has been around since 1999 and is not a knock off of anything.

I'm sure Becky is really nice. I do think LHC are patterned after Mudpies, there are just too many similarities. If you are having trouble snagging one maybe you should email Stephanie? She's so sweet. I can't imagine she would turn you down.

Thanks for all the feedback, mommas. I don't seem to have trouble lately snagging some MP (I got 3 in 2 days). I just wanted an alternative. I may try a LHC from tp or something since there is such wide variety of opinions <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"> Thanks mommas!!

I really like both LHC and MP but I do find the the fit to be different and I get different soakers in each. MP are alot harder to get for sure! Love em both! Just my 2 cents <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/thumb.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="thumbs up">

FWIW, the "style" of both LHC and MP has been pretty darn common as the diapering world has evolved. Heck, I even have a FMBG that is the same style, but with her soaker. I have Butterfly Kisses fitteds that are the same style fitteds.<br><br>
There are only so many ways to skin a cat, or sew a diaper that is serged and sidesnapping. If the fit is different, and the soaker is different, IMO, they are different diapers.

<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/yikes2.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="yikes">: Wow! Pretty harsh words for Becky! Hasn't LHC been around longer than MP? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/headscratch.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="headscratch"> I just started using LHC (and am very pleased) b/c she got OV. I'm an old hyena and I remember them being very popular a couple years ago. I thought Ryansmom was going to be her spokesperson. :LOL I'm not familiar with MP....it doesn't pick up on my radar if its not oc/ov.

Well I don't mean to be harsh and I thought about editing my post but I don't want people to think what I said was worse than what I actually did, so I'll just leave it. I have never owned a LHC but Mudpies have been around for many years and the issue of how similar they are keeps coming up over and over. I am just surprised that so many people think two different WAHMs could come up with an almost identical diaper independently. Maybe it happened that way, who knows.
