Are Preemie Prefolds Trim Doublers?

I'm looking for a doubler that is a) reasonable and b) trim for daytime. I have no issues with a bulky diaper for nighttime, but I do want a trimmer look during the day.

I've read that preemie prefolds are great to use as doublers, but it seems they would be really bulky for daytime. Are they bulkier than the doublers that are on the market? If so, what are some a) reasonable and b) trim doublers that are great for daytime?
