21-month-old dd had a minor tibia fracture and was in a long-legged cast for 3 weeks. When we got the cast off they said the break had only halfway healed and to see how she was doing in a week. It's been a week and she can only sort of walk on it - she only puts weight on the toes and kind of hobbles around. She mostly resorts to crawling.

I'm wondering if anyone else has experience and if there is any hope the bone will grow back together normally or if we should just get another cast. At first she couldn't walk on it at all, so she has shown some improvement. But I was worried because with the cast on she could walk, then when it came off she couldn't.

I'd really prefer not to get the cast but of course I don't want her leg to keep hurting.
