*under* a bathing suit or *just* the dipe? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/headscratch.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="headscratch">

I think a little of both, depending where we are and who I want to debate with that day. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngbiggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="orange big grin">

just the swim dipe (birthdate - 7/03), except for oldest dd - she's out of dipes and prefers a swimsuit or bare-butt nekkid (in our pool only - she's 7.)<br><br>
Toddlers are still babies. I think that if a person has an issue with a baby's body - that's just it - THEIR issue.

Well, our pool is very private so there is usually a lack of bathing suits all together. If we have company Aaron is still usually naked but occasionally I'll put him in just a swim dipe. I really hate to wrestle bathing suits on and off of squirming children!

depends. frankly if it is sunny i prefer her in a bathing suit - less to sunblock. otherwise i could care less <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"> she does wear a swim diaper, mainly b/c I do not feel like cleaning up poop. she is 2 this mo but i don't trust her to tell me before she poops.

I just trifold a cpf and lay it into the mesh liner of the swim trunks. It'll catch the poop, and that's all that matters. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

we do a swim dipe under a bathing suit<br><br>
we are about as pale as pale can get (the genes of my half-Italian dh have apparently gone AWOL in both kids :LOL ) so I bought an SPF shirt/trunks combo for ds so I have a bit less sun exposure to worry about <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/thumb.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="thumbs up">

I bought Hadley one of those UV protective shirts, actually I have one for both kids. I haven't really decided on what kind of diaper she will be wearing. I have some swim dipes from Corby but I think they would be too big on her. Hmmm....I see an excuse to go shopping in my future.

Paige is 18 months old, and usually just wears a swim dipe. I did buy her a cute 2 piece swim dipe set, and she just wears the bottoms! :LOL Last week when we were in the pool (at my parent's athletic club) a few old ladies commented on my "beautiful little boy" :LOL I just laughed, and thought well, at least they are open-minded enough to think that a boy looks good in hot pink swim trunks! :LOL

I have a little bathing suit (bikini actually) for dd that has a built in diaper. I bought it at Gymboree and it is the cutest thing ever! I saw some at Target that were a bikini top and swim diaper bottoms that looked super cute too. They even had matching hats and sunglasses for the hip baby <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1">

My mom went garage saling last weekend and brought back this cute little swimsuit w/ a built-in swim diaper! I figure if DD does poop in it, I'll just spray it off w/ the Mini-Shower and wash it w/ the diapers.<br><br>
But, up until Mom bought that, I had planned on using unstuffed Fuzzi Bunz for swim diapers. Maybe I still will if the swimsuit is wet or in the wash when we need it.

Hey there, Letia--we have the target diaper and bikini top for my dd...it is sooo cute and wasn't too expensive. I got the hat, too, which has a 30 spf, I think. It was over in the baby section, not with the clothes.

Check this out...a different pattern than we got, but I think the same thing. They sold the parts separately at the store.<br><br><a href="http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-3/qid=1116896451/ref=sr_1_3/601-7966372-7692138?_encoding=UTF8&asin=B00073IV4M" target="_blank">Swim diaper set</a><br><br><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

seems like i recall someone posting about using an unstuffed fuzzi (or another pocket) and the dipe got all poofy and floated and almost drowned the child. does anyone recall this?<br><br>
i'm not trying to be alarmist or anything, and nothing against fuzzis, of course.
