I'm so not in the mood to cook! For the past week or so, I have been: a) tired, b) nauseous and c) have zero desire to eat or cook or go grocery shopping.

DH works pretty late and DS is picky - so we've just been eating out a lot. This evening, I decided to go to Costco, but nothing looked good so we ended up with a pizza, which hopefully won't come back to give me too much grief later.

It's to the point where we are really running low on supplies and I need to make a grocery run, but really have no energy and again, nothing looks good.

Just curious how you ladies are coping..

PS - I'm 6w4d today, m/s hit me early and hard

I'm feeling the same way, especially since I'm in the middle of the flu (I think). Everyone else is just getting over it, and I know they need to eat well, but man, I do not want to cook. Yesterday, I was going back and forth between the take out menu and looking at the dirty dishes that I would need to clean if I wanted to do all of the work to make the big meal my kids were asking for, and I wanted to cry. We did grilled cheese & carrot sticks instead (I had the leftover soup they refused to eat). I told my dh he had to pick up some easy-to-prepare food, so he came home with canned soup, instant potatoes, pizza pockets, crackers, and frozen lasagne. Today was better.

With my youngest, I was queasy and really craving specific things and not wanting to cook anything else, and we ended up buying a lot of convenience foods and getting meals to go at the grocery store. It was very expensive, and I'm trying to avoid that now, but it is soooooo tempting!

I've been lucky that ms hasn't really hit.. yet. I feel a little queasy a few times a day, but a ginger candy usually helps out.

Here's what works for us: I do a meal plan for the week, and we all go out to the farmer's market on Sat. morning and pick up everything we need for the week. The weekly menu is put on the fridge, so, even if I'm not up to cooking, DH knows what we're having that night, what the recipe is, and he can make it.

It works for us. But, every family is different. And if/ when my ms kicks in, this will probably change things, because I might think curry is a good idea on Saturday, but by the time "Curry Night" comes around, my tum might have a different idea...

Same here. I'm not even 4 weeks though. I've been feeling sick for about a week
We've gotten take out the last 2 nights. I've been doing lots of crockpot soups too. I have an awesome "Black Bean Chowder" recipe that is done entirely in the crockpot which is super helpful. The kids have had a few too many sandwhiches too.
My desire/appetite tends to be non-exsistent til closer to the second tri which is bad. I'm hoping to stay on top of it this time around.

So glad to hear I'm not the only one. I LOVE to cook, but touching raw meat makes me feel so ill I've had to lay down on the kitchen floor. My husband could burn water, so we're eating a lot of sandwiches and frozen veggies.

We're grilling out A LOT lately. I'm having a hard time with the smell and look of many of my favorite foods, so I'm staying out of the kitchen as much as I can.

I'm very thankful that DH likes to cook.

So far so good here, but ms usually hits me around 6 weeks, so I've got another week to go. My plan is to double batch a lot of things this week, and any time I do feel up for cooking, so that the days I don't I can pull something out of the freezer and throw it in the oven and be done. That and DH understands that he may have to fend for himself and the kids on some days, and he's ok with that.

I've been experiencing aversion to the foods I cook when I am cooking them only to find them delicious once I force myself to eat them
Food seems ok overall so far though the kitchen waste makes me gag when I smell it. More like most foods just don't seem appetizing. The only thing that I am hungry for lately is orange juice and red meat, which is unusual for me. Wondering when the morning sickness is going to start... this is my first. My mom had it pretty bad so I guess I probably have morning sick genes

LOL! That's practically what happened with me...DH got home when I got home with the pizza - we had an uneventful meal - I felt like crap and told him I was going to bed...now what to eat tonight???

I'm actually feeling better in the mornings (I tend to get afternoon/evening sickness), so I'm trying to start stuff when I get up. I have a pot of beans ready to cook; I'm trying baked beans, but I haven't had good luck with them in the past. If they don't turn out, it will be pizza pockets for dinner.

well, i ventured out yesterday to the grocery store - but unfortunately did not make a list. so DS and i roamed the aisles and again, nothing looked good.

i did end up with some frozen foods and bread and cheese...oh and toilet paper. nothing really to make any homemade meals.

i've always had guilt about not being into cooking and when i was pregnant before, it was just me and DH so we just figured it out...and now with DS (2 1/2 yo), i feel guilty about not cooking more for him, ...but I am telling myself i'm doing the best i can and hopefully this m/s yuck eases up in my 2nd tri so we can get back to eating more at home.
