Are you having any strange cravings?

I cannot get enough wasabi.
Dh took me last weekend to eat Thai food so I could get my wasabi fix. My mom is taking me again this weekend. And I called a friend yesterday and asked if instead of buying me a birthday present, could we just go to lunch so I can have more wasabi.
Of course she agreed. I have one other friend that usually buys me a b-day gift so I'll be calling her soon to see if we can go to lunch instead.

Boy, I can't even imagine wanting wasabi. Not for me!

But I crave strawberries (which I normally never eat) and oranges, and BREAD WITH BUTTER.

Last pg, I craved red meat like mad. This time, I'm trying to eat it (a genetic form of anemia is my possible barrier to my birth center birth) but I just don't enjoy any protein foods for now.

MMMMMM, bread with butter sounds really good, I think I'll go have some. My cravings change day to day, the other day I made butter noodles with a lot of butter and parmeson cheese, it was soooooo good!! I have been eating a lot of oranges too, just everything, I am pretty much hungry all the time!

Avocados & string cheese. Gotta have it: all day, everyday.

I tend to get a craving for any food anyone mentions- but lately I've been wanting sushi of all things! I've only had it once in my life (about 9 months ago), but I've been really wanting some. But I'm just not sure its a good idea.
I've been on a major cottage cheese and melba toast kick. I eat it just about every day now. I'm a big fan of cheese this pregnancy. I can't get enough of it.
I'm craving anything with sugar, especially chocolate, but that is probably due to the fact that I have cut it out of my diet. I do have an occasional chocolate covered almond but it just doesn't curb the evil cravings monster!! I would love a big slice of french silk pie right now. However, I do have a homemade jar of pickles sitting on my desk that someone brought into work today and it is extremely tempting

You can get veggie sushi, or sushi with cooked fish/eggs, etc. You can even easily make your own. Sushi is one of my absolute favorite things, and I have it fairly often, though I do avoid the raw fish while pregnant.

I'm loving proteins and salads this pregnancy. Hot veggie dishes aren't really doing it for me, but a big salad with lots of veggies and some cheese and a light dressing is just the ticket.

My big craving, though, is for sweets. I really, really love sweet stuff right now, even though I know it's not great for me or baby. I can power through candy, cookies, ice cream, cake, pie, etc. And fruits just don't hold off the craving - it has to be the bad stuff. So far I'm doing fairly well at limiting myself to one serving of bad sweets per day, but I don't know how long that will last. Right now I'm dreaming about ice cream.... Mmmmmm...

I dream about food when I'm pregnant. It's so weird. I dreamt the other night about Cinnabon... you know, that place in the mall? Yea, we don't have one anymore, thank goodness. LOL

I go back and forth from crunchy/salty stuff like those baked kettle chips and ice cream.
This whole pregnancy, I've craved fruit and veggies and HEALTY stuff.
But just this last week, I started wanting chocolate. Ugh.
I was hoping to avoid that.
But what can you do.
I know my cravings aren't "weird" like wasabi (which I've never even had btw) but that's what I'm craving!!!
Eggs and avocados!!! I eat an avocado every single day, and usually have a few slices of avocado over an omlette. I'm still completely turned off by red meat. Ick.

I, too, find tuna sandwiches MORE appealing than I normally do lately. As a rule, I don't really like fish, but I try to eat it because it is good for me. (Can't stand the smell in the house, though, so only have DH grill it or buy it from restaurants--usually fish & chips!) Somehow, now that I'm trying to avoid mercury, I could eat a tuna sandwich every couple/few days. I'm limiting them to once every week or two, though.

I was going to say 'no,' that I've been pretty lucky, but then yesterday I made fudge brownies and before they'd even cooled, I ate two rows along with a massive glass of 1% milk. I just had to - haven't done that since, well, EVER. Oops.

Yeah! And what I want changes minute-by-minute! (depends on what Isle I'm in at the market...)

I bought brussel sprouts yesterday. Brussel sprouts! I've always regarded these little vegetables as a really neat looking, albiet stinky, thanksgiving table decoration. There are very few vegetables I don't like the taste of, and this is--or was--one of them. I haven't eaten them yet. I'll let you all know how the experiment goes!
I mostly just crave grapefruit! My non-pregnant self likes grapefruit just fine, but now if I had an unlimited budget, I'd probably eat 10 a day.

Since I've been eating them so much, ds and dd have been wanting to eat them too so my grapefruit stash is going way too quickly. This week alone I spent $14 on grapefruit; it's only Tuesday, and they're almost gone

I went through a sushi phase much earlier, it had to have plenty of wasabi on it as well. Right now I'm way into the blood pudding, I think I must need the iron.

Meg_s where are you from, I have never heard of anyone "craving" blood pudding, kinda yucky to me.
