Hey everybody. This is my first pregnancy and people tell me it *usually* takes longer to show in you rfirst PG compared to later ones. So I was wondering -especially for first time moms-if you're like REALLY showing yet? For me yea I presonally think I'm showing -as do those who know me well and see me often. But I feel like strangers would think "oh look at her she'd better lay off all that food"
But the way my belly looks is this: below my belly button it's really round hard and sticking out but it looks funny because of my navel area. When I push on my navel I can feel it's starting to get hard and wanting to push out but I haven't gotten there yet. I guess I am being a bit impatient but I just want to have that beautiful pregnant/swelling belly look. I knew this girl who didn't show until 6.5 months! I don't think I can wait that long.
BTW I'll be 19 weeks tomorrow. So I'm curious how everyone else looks and feels about how they look. Also for those of you who've done this before..how long before you really started showing?

OMG! I cannot beleive how much I'm not showing! I am 23 weeks and though it's obvious to me, it's not to most people. I am shocked by this, really. Like you, I want that big round belly. Really, I want for people to start giving me their seats on the subway!
I keep trying to look on the bright side: at least it should be easy to get my pre-pregnancy body back. But, yeah, I know how you feel.

I'm 22 weeks, and have just started showing... *If* I wear clothes that show off my belly. I think I could still pass for non-pg wearing one of my T-shirts, especially to strangers. My friends/family, however, keep saying how I'm bigger every time they see me.

Pg #4 here and it's not always obvious. Some of the clothes I wear, for comfort, make it more obvious than others, though. If I wear non-maternity clothes (the few I can still fit into) I don't think a stranger would guess.

With pg #1 I don't think I really had anything to show until 25 weeks or later, other than a thicker waist.

I am 21w2d and I am pretty much the same as other 1st time moms....people who know me are starting to say they see something, but if you don't know me, you probably wouldn't think I was pregnant. I had an appt with my midwife yesterday when she saw me she commented on how great I looked, then about 20 minutes later when I was laying down, she lifted up my shirt to measure the fundal height and proclaimed "look at that bump, you really ARE pregnant"

Oh I know what you mean..I was at this concert at a local park last night and they had the close, convenient parking reserved for handicapped and elderly, etc. and I rolled down my window and requested to park there because I'm pregnant and it was really humid as the sun was setting. The "event staff" thought I was conning her and I was like no I really am 18 weeks pregnant!
Unfortunately I had to park all the way back like everyone else....
On the other hand..I saw an old friend who didn't know I was pregnant and he actually said to me "you're pregnant aren't you?"
-but then again the shirt I was wearing did have the word baby on it ..

I'm in the same boat as most here so far.
Friends and family that see me often can see a difference, but not a stranger.
I am in between my normal and some maternity clothes. My normal jeans can barely fit, but are uncomfortable when fully buttoned and sitting. So, they are now retired for the rest of the year. Shirts, on the other hand, I can still wear my normal ones for a short period of time.

I dont' feel that my belly is baby enough to wear full fledged maternity shirts, the billowy ones that can accomodate an 8mo. belly, you know?

but, i can totally tell a difference with my belly-button. (i have for a long time now actually) It is stretching out at the moment, getting flatter and flatter. Someday it will pop.
Gotta Love It.

For my first, I didn't show with clothes on until almost 3rd trimester. I was on bedrest the last several weeks when you might actually be able to see a pg tummy if it wasn't hidden under winter coat. We actually had neighbors ask about our adoption LOL!!

This time #4, my tummy wasn't flat to start out, so I was pooching out right away. That was mostly just letting my tummy relax because what the hey, I'm pg. At this point (20 weeks today!!) I am showing, but still at the stage where people would be afraid to mention it in case I was just in need of some serious ab work LOL. Yesterday we had two workers here who are familiar with us, and they both kept sneaking looks at my tummy as if to try to determine if I was pg or not, but neither said anything. Maybe because they are guys, maybe because they are guys- either clueless
or scared to death to ask a woman if she's pg maybe because it wouldn't be "manly" to bring up the subject, maybe because I'm NOT pg and boy wouldn't that open a can of worms
. So I left them in the dark
I know it has to just be killing one of them because he is a total gossip-monger heehee.

#2 here. I don't think I'm showing a lot -- I haven't told anyone yet, but no one's made mention of anything either. I can still fit into my jeans if I use the rubber-banded button method. I don't know whether or not everyone just thinks I'm getting fat. Probably!
Oh, and I'm 19 weeks along.

Third pregnancy in 7 years, and I'm showing for sure. People ask how far along I am, they ask when I'm due, they ask if it's my first baby

#2 here and even though I wore maternity yesterday people really couldn't tell. Certain clothes will make it more obvious and others not so much. I can still wear all my regular shirts...but I can't wear my pants or shorts anymore.

I'm making #1, too, and can still wear all of my clothes. However, I just bought a maternity skirt at Target that is so soft and stretchy that I don't want to take it off. It's going to be hard to go back to more fitted things. So maybe I won't.

I went to the midwife on Thursday and my fundus was 20 cm, and I'm 20 weeks, which apparently is right where it should be. I'm still kind of ready to get more of a belly. Then again, it's nice to not yet be limited in terms of movement, etc.

I'm 20 weeks with #2 and I might be showing if I'm naked, you know I'm pregnant, and you use a little imagination. I didn't show with my first till about 8 mos, so I wasn't expecting to show this time either. When I gave birth I looked maybe 5 or 6 mos preg. I just don't show. There were lots of people that didn't know and I saw them all the time. I just need a shirt that says "I'm pregnant dammit!"

I'm pg with baby # 9 (4th living baby, though) & you can most definitely tell I'm pg. With my first it wasn't until around 20 weeks when you could really tell. I think it has everything to do with how much of a waist you have, though. I had a friend who, like your friend, didn't show until she was close to 7 mo. pg....she was long-waisted. I, however have maybe an inch & a half from the bottom of my ribs to my hip bone....it has no where to go but out!!

with #1 I didn't show even a little until 28w, then overnight...BAM....huge belly (he WAS almost 10lbs!)

This time i'm 23w and i've been wearing maternity pants for comfort....since like er, 18w or so?
With my first I just wore bigger pants, but they were TWO sizes too big this time, and I sure as heck didn't feel like buying another pair of jeans in yet another size (altho, I may regret that after I give birth. LOL) so I went ahead with some underbelly maternity jeans. Sitting down was making my tummy cramp up with my regular pants.

I feel SO much bigger this time around, and I'm quite a bit bigger, but still smaller than most of the 1st time moms i know....which is weird. Oh well, maybe by #3 i'll pop out onpar with 1st timers

I think the big boobs help though....ROFL. I was a 34ddd prebaby, and i just tried on a 36G that fit. so...yeah.

I'm 20 weeks pregnant and while people who know me well can tell, strangers wouldn't have a clue. I just look like I've got a "spare tire" for the most part. Most of the outward growth I've noticed recently has occurred within the past two weeks. I went from being able to wear my normal clothes comfortably to only being able to wear some of my shirts and one pair of pants without having indentations on my belly. I'm heading out Monday to find a couple pairs of maternity pants so I can finally be comfy!

Atruck, I think I just bought the same skirt at Target and it's soooooo comfortable.

I've felt kind of awkward not showing a whole lot because I want everyone to know I'm pregnant, but due to my loss last year, I feel really weird telling people. At least if I were obviously pregnant, I wouldn't have to say anything...people would just be able to tell. I suppose it'll happen soon enough though!

This is around when I started showing with my first (beyond the 20 pounds of chub I added on
) I am pretty big right now after multiple pregnancies. Much bigger than I was with my first or second at this point. I have to post a pic soon.
