HI Mamas ~

I was wondering if anyone is taking a dha or fish oil supplement while breastfeeding? I found a dha prenatal supplement by nortic naturals and I may get it but unsure if it is a good idea????

I think it's a very good idea. I'm taking fish oil.

I take a local store brand, no heavy metals in it as well. It's great to continue taking it for brain development as well as other things.

I also take fish oil. I did notice when I was pregnant that my son moved a lot more on the days I remembered to take the fish oil. Not sure if it's related, or not.

Will it say "no heavy metals" on the bottle?

That's a highly recommended brand. I've been taking them since the end of my pregnancy & without them I get terrible PMS. A quality brand like that is totally safe.

I did a little research a while back. You want to look for two things:

(1) it states "molecularly distilled" and/or

(2) it states pharmaceutical grade

These would indicate that the fish oil was either processed to remove any PCBs, mercury, etc. or that it comes from a source (e.g. algae, like the Expecta) that does not have pollutants to begin with.
