Normally I wash everything before dd wears it but I just got an aristocrat wool cover and wool is "new" for us so I am not sure what to do.

Should I wash this before dd wears it?

The label does not say anything but that it is 100% untreated wool- so I guess I need to know if this should be lanolized before wear as well?

On a side note: My mom gave me $40 and I bought 2 Nikkis from babyworks.com but the rise was too low. I called babyworks.com and they returned them both (one new one used) and sent out the Aristocrat without any shipping charge! Adrian at babyworks.com was really nice too.

I didn't wash mine first (being lazy) and I didn't lanolize either. Works great on my toddler ds and lil sis.

i wouldn't wash it, because:

1) it is untreated, and not likely to have chemical residues on it to worry about
2) you want to be super gentle with this wonderful wool

and i would not add lanolin because it is not stripped of its natural lanolin, and you'll probably find it will take a few tmes of it needing lightly rinsed or spotwashed before you even need to think of adding lanolin.
