What are Arnica tablets used for? I've been noticing a few of you mention them and have also heard the name elsewhere on MDC. What are they?

Arnica is supposed to be really good to prevent and treat bruising. I've heard it's also good for postpartum bleeding.

yeah, arnica rocks. i didn't know about it the last two times i gave birth, but have some around for this time. i mainly use it for the kids when they get banged up being kids. DS banged his head so bad a few weeks ago from tripping and falling head-long into an open drawer that he needed 5 stitches - two of them inside, the doc said she could see his *skull* it was so deep - and he didn't have any bruising at all and healed up unbelievably quickly. it was phenomenal.

i'll have to ask my m/w what her protocol is, as i've never used it post partum before. usually i just give it once or twice within a short period after the kids bang themselves up. i know DH took before and after his thyroid surgery, but for the life of me i can't remember how much or how often he took it (it was like 8 years ago).
