How friggin' sadistic.

On the mainpage, their ad shows a match being lighted, with the message, "Your son's health should never be at risk. That's why at Sunathrone, we have redefined the paradigm of male hygiene. Available now."

Another part of the ad shows an adult hand holding a child's hand, with the message: "It's only natural for a parent to protect and care for his son. That's why Sunathrone offers a new definition for male"

They're motto is "We know. We care."

There website has a video of a rocket taking off, a satelite, etc. It's downright goofy.

Their about the company section says, "Now a perfect opportunity to uncover the vast potential of circumcision-globally."

Just when it couldn't get any more bizarre, check out the poster for their product, laden with brightly colored fruits and vegetables: http://www.sunathrone.com/Download/S...0Companion.pdf

And the health benefit sales pitch: http://www.sunathrone.com/Health.asp

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

So, where's the mini one for females? I mean, they do say on their site:

Quote:
Circumcision is obligatory for both men and women. For men it consists of removing the prepuce from the penis, and for women, removing the prepuce of the clitoris.

Good point.

Sadly, it wouldn't surprise me if one was forthcoming.

that kid on the left looks like he is in total despair. but doesn't mom look wicked happy! blech.
I love your quote from the site.......

"A boy who objects to being circumcised....." Like there are young boys who DON'T object to being circumcised!!
Obviously the boy in the procedure was not an infant either! Arg

I am thoroughly disgusted and outraged that we have people in the world who are managing to think up NEW ways to mutilate our precious sons. Can't this all just end?!?!?

Umm... okay. "Areospace technology"?!?

Look at their pdf on the subject. The first page says "Corona Extra"- does that not look like a beer brand?! http://www.corona.com/ In fact, it IS! Exactly! Eww... and look further into that pdf file.... specifically page 12.... This is either meant to dupe idiots into circ, or its all a joke! Ok- and page 14... All those devices are circ devices EXCEPT.... (Remember Sesame Street- "One of these things is not like the others.... One of these things just doesn't belong..."?
) The top left is an umbilical cord clamp!

Ummm...it's a prostate, not a PROSTRATE. It's spelled two different ways on page 12.

Seriously, what is WRONG with these people?
It might be some goofy translation issues too, since the company is in Malaysia.

It is Malaysia so we all know what is 'wrong'. We just cannot discuss about it on this board.

Is it time for letter campaign? I know it probably won't do any difference in this case but at least we voice our opinion? Places like Mothering are havens and we need them but we should also get the word out. Write to these kind of manufactures, write to AAP, write to newspapers, suggest intact-topic to your local media, get the word out.

And MAYBE in the future, children can be born to this world without the fear of this kind of violence.

Honestly... I think it's better than someone using a free knife. If they're doing this on older children as part of ritual circumcision, this probably is the easiest, most accurate, least painful way to do it. If all the claims hold true at least.
It's still wrong, but it's probably better than the alternative.
Okay, I just read the details again. I couldn't see them at work yesterday.
It DOES say you should use pain relief and antibiotic cream. That's something. And the after result is a clean, even cut. And the glans is protected.
In countires where boys are routinely dying from their circumcisions, or getting their penises amputated, this would be a much better alternative. Hell, it still looks like a better alternative than a gomco clamp.
Although claiming that penile cancer accounts for 12-22% of all male cancers is criminal. If that were the case, I would still be against circ, but have a lot more understanding for people who decided to do it.
Unfortunately though with these 'leave on' circumcision devices, there's usually a higher rate of infection like gangrene...which these boys may be even more susceptable to if the circumcision is done in less than sterile conditions or they are not extremely healthy/well-nurished when undergoing the procedure. I'm not sure if some of these newer clamps have been studied, but I know that the increased infection risk occurs with the plastibell device.

At least the Gomco and Mogen methods don't leave skin to rot off...KWIM?
