Someone suggested spinning off to do an art thread. I also really hope that people with older children might show some of their art too. Post pics of your child's art (ooh, or your own!). I'll do mine shortly, once I upload.

I got a bit carried away, but mine is one of the many mentioned that was obsessive about drawing. He's not really into it lately, however.<br><br>
Aside from drawing a few faces, ds1 didn't draw until he was almost 3. I don't really ever remembering him scribbling. He just wasn't interested.<br><br>

This was our house facing our open garage. The cars are in the garage, but seen from the back. The foundation is underneath. Our neighbor's house is sort of at an angle to the right, just partly visible. He went through a period where he drew things as though they were taken apart, shortly before age 4. Age 4, from a learn-to-draw book. He desperately wanted this "learn to draw vehicles" book from the library. This one's from August. He got into making instructions. He was upset that we wouldn't buy him glass to make a display case for his digger, so he made instructions to show how one could remove "scratchies" or sharpness from glass so that it would be safe for him to handle. The big square is step one. There's a hand outstretched, ready to take a shovel with the sheet of glass on it. There are scissors next to the shovel, ready for the job. The middle squares are steps 2 and 3 (scratchy removal process and scratchy disposal into trash). This is from the other day. It's a banana truck behind a car. Those are very nice photos. My children only like to draw on themselves, not on paper. Some day perhaps...

I have tons of art work of my kids but no way to post them.<br>
My dd started scribbling when she was 1 then went on to sit for up to an hour drawing by the time she was 2. I wish I could post some of her 2 yr. drawings she did lots of tiny detailed circles and stuff. She was so focused on it. She still loves to draw but now she draws what I believe is more typical stuff but very well.<br>
My ds has followed a more typical progression of drawing. He draws a lot of super heroes and cars.<br><br>
I LOVE my kids art work and try to keep most of it , which can get hard since there is soooooo much. When I ever get around to it I am going to frame some of it and hang them around the house.
