We live in area where the only art program is a chain-store. And I'm just not hip on singing clowns teaching colors.

I've seen a lot of art programs out there and wanted opinions on what worked and what you all love, please.

Thanks!

Exactly. Nothing drives mama from a room faster than a hokey clown puppet.

And thanks for the links!

I have this for kindergarten: http://www.amazon.com/How-Teach-Art-...9815798&sr=8-1 I really like it - it has some pages you can copy for little projects and everything is explained in plain language (since I'm not an artist, lol).

But I'm looking at this for first grade: http://www.amazon.com/Art-Adventures...d=BGTUE67YCHQH

It's just that I want to have lots and lots of options, not that I necessarily want to finish either one or that I don't like the first. DD is a...spirited...child, lol, so I need her to have choices, so that there's certain to be something she finds interesting.

After looking at artistic pursuits last night I think we will be using it as well! It looks perfect. My entire (really, ENTIRE) family can draw and paint beautifully except for me (but I can bake so there lol). So, trying to teach my DC is not going to be easy. Even my stick figures stink.
