I don't know specifically about astroglide, but I do know that most lubricants are the wrong PH for sperm even if they are not spermicidal. Even salvia can be hostile.

Someone on this or another board mentionned a lubricant called pro-seed, which is actually designed for ttc.

I also seem to remember some folks using egg whites as lubricants, but I've never gotten the full story.

I'm pretty sure that most lubricants will kill spermies, so I would suggest using egg whites, if you need anything. Good Luck!!!

I wouldn't think a trip downtown would be problematic if you've got enough mucous, but if you are using it as a way to lubricate, then you might want to avoid it.

I've read in at least 2 or 3 places (the only one I can recall specifically is the book Getting Pregnant) that no "downtown" activity should be included in the same session with an attempt to conceive. Sorry.

Our compromise has been to enjoy a lot of that at the non-fertile times of my cycle.

The other good news is, if you intend to use NFP as your birth control after your baby is born, having "downtown" foreplay in your repertoire will help!

Ummmm, I just conceived using Astroglide. We always just put it on dh and not inside of me. Maybe that helped.

I meant the "we now return you" comment as gentle irony. It struck me as kind of funny that we all know how much CM each other are producing, what color each others bodily fluids are, how much sex we're having, in what positions, etc.

And then we tip toe around "oral sex". I would have probably used a euphemism too had I been asking the question, but somehow I found it funny, so I put the silly tag on the end.

What about olive oil? It is a great lubricant for birth so it makes sense that it would work well. The question is...what about those swimmers?

Seems to me that all oral wouldn't be the problem. I mean, if it focused primarily up front, on the clit, the saliva that gets into the vagina would be really minimal as opposed to a full tongue bath approach.

I never knew all this about lube being swimmer unfriendly. Might be why it took me so long to concieve!
