Attempted backwards swan-dive from a rucksack carry ...

It was, to say the least, highly disturbing.

DD#2 attempted a backwards swan-dive while I had her in a rucksack carry (in my recently acquired slightly used Ellaroo
thanks pinky
). Most distressing also was that DH and his elderly aunt were there and freaked out, and now are, like, "just put her on the front," and "enough with these carriers already," and, well ...

Her legs were totally strapped in, so she wasn't going anywhere for real, but it was pretty scary.

So is there a way to prevent such things? Did I have her too loose or too tight?

Didn't think it would happen in a woven (she'd already tried it a few times in a stretchy ... which is how I decided she was too big for the stretchy) ...

Oy.

Advice, please ...

SCARY! Poor Mama!

Don't know if I have much good advice--but I looove my Ergo. Ever tried one? But you probably don't want to just go out and buy ANOTHER carrier. . . sometimes when ds tries to do that, I quickly lean forward. . .but that doesn't always work. Wish I could be more help!

I don't know how long your wrap is but...

Roll the top rail that goes under her arms a bit so she has more a secure belt there. Make sur that part is tight and even with the top of your shoulders. (My kids try to be up higher and it gives em too much slack when they sink down) then when you go back under their bum twist it so that it's more than an x a full twist. Oops little squeker becons look up the freehand site and watch the video under humong directions and do that with your wrap. sorry....

I'll try back tomorrow or you can pm me if your still need help
Dd did this to me the other day, I quickly leaned forward and flipped her back up--scary to say the least. I don't think she would have fallen because of the way her legs were tied in the wrap. I've learned my lesson not to put baby on my back when she is uncooperative!

That must have been scary! It definitely sounds as if it was not tight enough - I don't think this could have happened if it were really snug (unless your baby is old enough to get his/her arms out and really push the fabric all the way off her body).
