Anyone have thoughts on this name? One of my co-workers was thinking about it, but her DH wasn't too sure about it.

Google Attica prison riots. Definitely not something I would want to impose on my child. Atticus, though, reminds me of To Kill A Mockingbird and would make a great name for a girl or boy.

Do you think maybe she was confusing Atticus with Attica? (yes, I woke up at 4 AM thinking of this, LOL!) Because even if Attica wasn't a prison, I would think a name ending with an a would typically be a feminine rather than masculine name (Melissa, Aurora, Laura, etc). I'm trying but I can't think of men's names that end with a soft a sound. Not that it matters. If you're going to name your kid after a jailhouse, you might not mind about things like masculine and feminine endings either, hee.

I can't say this name aloud without chanting "Attica! Attica!". That was the first thing that came to my mind, too!
