Last Month's Thread

Our standing message:
***
Our purpose is to Support, Educate & Share information regarding the Many Common & UnCommon Uses and Abuses of Cannabis/Marijuana.

We speak about News Currents, Media, "Medical" Marijuana, State Legislation, Parenting, Breastfeeding, Legal Issues, Spirituality, Plant Uses and Preparations, Opinion, Fact and Truth.

We promote the use of this wonderful Medicinal Plant for Appetite Stimulant, Spiritual Centering, Treating the symptoms of Morning Sickness, Chronic pain, Glaucoma and possibly Curing/Reversing Cancer, AIDS etc... Countless Citizens find this plant medically useful and less harmful than disease causing prescription and over the counter DRUGS.

We are also discussing Hemp another misunderstood plant & seed, which has many wonderful non-medicinal uses < Fiber, Fuel, Plastics, Nutritional Value etc...> This is also illegal to cultivate in much of the U.S. Also the subjects of using our Tax Dollars on Numerous Humanitarian Efforts. And spending less money on the "WAR" against Marijuana.

Many governments attempt to mis-inform and discourage Right Education and Safe Access to Marijuana. We Say... Use all things in harmony with yourself and others.

As this is a public forum and may be viewed by anyone with internet access, please be mindful what you post on this topic. Everyone has different comfort levels and we wouldn't want to discourage anyone from joining us. So... please Speak, Act, and Medicate responsibly.

Good job, Itsang!!

I'm back, mamas! July got all overwhelming, and as usual, I disappeared!
:

Update on the CPS CRAP: We both went to an assessment at a drug treatment place yesterday, and provided that my UA comes back clean (which I certainly hope it does, seeing as I have not
: since March), I don't *think* I will be entering the program (thank you to whoever is overseeing THAT part of my life) but dh *has* to do their stupid program because he admitted to smoking every day (um, if it is used as MEDICINE, aren't you supposed to take it every day?? Except that this is TX, and you can't get a Rx here, so therefore it isn't medicine.
). So that's 5 hours a WEEK for the next THREE months, MINIMUM. And guess who is picking up the tab? The lucky taxpayers of TX, that's who. And EVERYONE in their program comes from CPS, which just goes to show that this drug war is SO profitable for SO many people. I mean, this entire program would go out of business if not for govt money. Let me tell ya, pp's, when this is all over, this mama is going to be wearing a Norml shirt EVERY DAMN day! I can't wait to start to sink my teeth into this ridiculous wasteful war on drugs. And you know what?? I am so flippin tired of war. Period. Of talking about it, of living in a world where that's all we do. Dh used to be in the military, and they did such a good job of brainwashing him that even though he is disabled and in severe pain b/c of the military and they totally f-ed him because he hadn't been in the service long when he got hurt, it took him nearly TWENTY years to start to realize that the military wasn't that great. Isn't that SCARY?? I told him that I will convince ds that the military is NOT an option for him (although, I will admit, if our country RADICALLY changes and I start to support what our govt is doing and WHY we go to war or enter countries with military forces, I will change my mind. I find it unlikely to happen, but still...) and I don't care what he says or thinks. Although I think he is finally starting to agree with me.
In addition, we are doing parenting classes, which I actually like, seeing as I am not a perfect parent, and doing them with dh helps me to understand him more and his parenting philosophies and where they come from.
Plus, dh is now allowed to live at home
and we are hoping that once his UA results come back, we can get them to let him be with ds unsupervised, so I don't have to take ds to and from daycare EVERY DAY (making my total commute 90 miles A DAY) and that I can go to the store without my whole family or at least my son.

Anyway, my rant is OVER! I'm looking forward to August being a positive month (although hot nasty and sticky, but hey, what can you do about that?). Ds and I are going to visit relatives and friends in about a week, and it will be nice to get away, even if we are still in the Hot and Nasty South. Dh starts school at the end of the month, and I am going to take a Japanese class! Wahoo!

Well, I have decided that this week is officially a bust at work (seeing as it is Fri, almost noon and I have done NOTHING today at work), and as soon as I am finished with the one thing I need to do this afternoon, I am outta here!

Hey, anyone else having a miserable time trying to force themselves to exercise in this nasty weather? (I also have a cold, so that ups my resistance to exercise!
: )

Happy August everyone! I hope to make it through the entire month without disappearing!

Just subbing but thought I would comment a moment. The "war" on drugs is no longer about any philosophy. It is about how much money can be sucked out of the government. That is why the prison industrial complex has become one of the major booming industries in our nation. Prision such a great thing for the economy (that was said with a TON of sarcasm behind it)

So sorry to hear of your struggle Petersmama but at least you are beginning to get somewhere with them. That sucks that you even have to do it at all but once again that is this great nation's disgusting policy.

Peace,
Shelbi

happy august,
: mamas!
haven't been around for awhile, as i've been very busy expanding my practice
. it's actually quite fun, since i'm doing what i love, but it sure does cut in to my mdc time
.
well, on the
: front, dh just had to pee for the first time
: . you never really think about it in this fair state of california, but it was workmans comp. he got a complex concussion, and after 8 days of nausea, splitting headache, dizziness, and memory loss he decided he needed to go to the er. he was putting it off cuz for workmans comp you have to pee. and if you fail, you automatically and immediately lose your job. so i ordered a home test. only $7.99, but had to pay for next day - that's where they got us good. he ended up not being able to wait for it to arrive before he had to go to the hospital, so we used our owm insurance. once the test arrived he took it, passed (phew!), and then went for workmans comp after the fact. said he forgot he could...due to the head injury. thank goodness that it all went smoothly. a really great guy got fired this past winter for failing his pee test on a workmans comp hospital visit
: . it's sooooooo LAME.
hope all you beautiful mamas are doing well!
i'm very interested in the vape, boxofrainmama, but super broke right now. if you still have it in a bit, let me know!
glad to hear things are on the upswing, petersmama! once again...LAMEwith extra lame sauce!
laurel turns ONE this month - OMG it is unbelievable!

Love it!

Yeah, I can't wait to become a warrior for the "war on drugs" (of course, I'll be on the "wrong" side, but seeing as I don't
: anymore, what are they going to do?? I'll pee in a cup all day for you!). That is one HUGE problem anyone who does
: has: it's such a HUGE risk, especially if you have kids, to become vocal about mj, that most don't, which just ends up making the policies so much more draconian. That's why the movement needs people like ME (once CPS truly believes that I think all drugs are evil bad and wrong
) who can shout without much fear. I mean, no one wants to help me now with my CPS problems (lawyers, that is) because I don't have any money and it is a pretty vanilla case. But let's see something happen when I am simply exercising my first ammendment rights and NOT breaking any laws. I'll bet the ACLU will GLADLY fight for me! Or at least a Norml lawyer.

We LOVE the drive in! That one was one we had never been to and we probably wont go back....there is another one about 45 mins from where we live that is all grass where the cars park and that is so much nicer. The night we took the pic ( a week ago today) it was just gravel and I spent much of the movie trying to pry cigarette butts and beer bottle caps out of my youngest grip. ewww.

pee tests! YIKES! I hate that an employer can request it and any given moment and as an employee the only choice we have is to take it. My father ownes a small manufacturing company and because his employees operate serious machinery he is required to do random drug testing. He told me once he hated it, that it was really hard to let these guys go because they puff on their off time. Its so freeking crazy so much time energy and $$ is WASTED on this totally insane fight against something such as marijuana. "war on drugs" HA! My daughter is starting 3rd grade this fall and has already been through a ton of DARE. I try so hard to plant the seeds for openmindedness with out giving her any reason to think mommy is "a drug abuser" There have been so many posts on when to tell your kids and such...very thought provoking stuff mamas.

My mind has kind of been afloat today. Im active in a mothers group in my area that has 108 members and on Tuesday one of our members was tragically killed in a car accident along with her mother and 2 young sons. I did not know this mama well, but it still brings me such deep saddness.... and such a reminder of how fast life can completely change in 1 second. This poor husband and father suddenly has no family. so so sad. http://www.dailyherald.com/story.asp?id=213970

Sorry to bring such sadness to the board I just needed some sort of outlet as I have had no adult conversation about it. My husband was gone for work from 5 am yesterday, home at 12 midnight and back out the door at 5am. Im soooo ready for the weekend!

Subbing here! I know I posted a couple of months ago with an intro and never posted again. I'm just lame like that! Things have been super busy and I've been super lazy since my due date is coming up pretty soon (6 weeks!). All I want to do is lay on the couch or in the pool or in the lake LOL.

I did find an organic grower! Yummmm! Now I just need to talk DH into a vape. I used one for the first time a while ago and it was sooooo nice!

Anyway~ happy August mamas!!! Hopefully I'll be around more soon!

Hi all, I've never posted in the tribal area before, but I wanted to introduce myself. I'm K, expecting my first dc any day now, and joined mdc for a nice healthy and woman-friendly outlet to counterbalance all the ... shall we say ... "traditional" voices in my life. DH and I are dizzy with anticipation and excitement right now as my due date is two weeks from today, and it seems like that's almost all we think about. (Almost).

Anyway, besides the introduction, I wanted to pose a question or two, and this seemed like the right spot. I
:'d a few times during pregnancy, mostly in the beginning because it was so very helpful with morning sickness. I'm not hung up about it and I don't think I did any harm to baby. However, I did
: about a week ago after a long and stressful day that I couldn't shake off. I know I haven't had much in my system and I haven't been around a smoking environment, so if there is any leftover concentration in my urine it would likely be pretty low. My insurance only covers a hospital birth (though thankfully it's being attended by a midwife), and I'm absolutely terrified that they will run a urinalysis when I go to give birth, find mj, and call CPS or not let me take my baby home. Are my concerns completely paranoid? Is there anything I can do? I feel like I have plenty to worry about without some fascist state agency taking my new baby away from us because I smoked some mj a month before he was born. Advice?

subbing for the month, havent had much time to post with the summer in effect.
Why does summer have to be so dry?
Finally got caught up on last months thread, noticed some mommas arent feeling all that great, struggling with anxiety and gastro problems.
and healing to you all. tyedyes, I go out and touch the earth when Im loosing it, pull weeds, dig in the dirt, play in the sandbox. No amount of external cleaning will replace an internal grounding. There are other great herbs besides the sacred one that could help. Kava, Hops, Valerian, St. Johns, etc..I second the gut flora suggestion, for hippiemom and you also may want to look into a parasitic cleanse. I highly reccommend this before resolving yourself that you have a chronic disease.
I did want to mention a couple of things for those who partake. My dh and I noticed some of the same problems, anxiety, nausea, when we didnt
: but ONLY when we got it from a certain source. Mostly swaggy commercial stuff. Anyway, this subsided after about a week or so, and we put it to the test a couple more times and finally cut it off.
How do you know what is in your
: ???
I mean our food (especially), air, water are all toxic, why should
: be exempt. There are well founded reports of the use of paraquat on the Mex crops and some unscrupulous people may be trying to keep good customers by enhancing their product. I'd be especially suspicious of anything with the gov or docs. What better way to target the undesirable MJ users than to taint it. I guess my point is if you cant cultivate it yourself, KNOW YOUR GROWER and try to go organic if you can.

Peace, I checked out the Peace project, thats amazing
I use that for my little mantra when 'things' are trying to get the best of me.
Hey to all you mommas
