My grandmother had me at a sewing machine when I was about 9 but I didn't really sew anything until I was about 12. I remember she spent a summer with all her granddaughters teaching us how to sew. I'm the only one who still does anything. The most difficult part for me is interpreting some of the instructions on a pattern, but once you figure out the basics, it's not very difficult. Like anything else, it just takes practice. I didn't start serious sewing until about a year ago, I've made curtains, bedding for the kids, some clothes, lots of quilts, and now I'm on to diapers. I wasn't too sure of them at first, and obviously I don't know how well they are going to work but I'll find out soon enough. I'm glad you like them though, thank you! I hope I didn't just make a bunch of expensive baby doll diapers :LOL

I have to go to the dentist soon for my cleaning. I'm hoping I don't have anything major wrong. I do know I need a crown, but they want to wait until after the baby is born to do it. I have a huge fear of the dentist for some reason. Just the thought of going makes me cringe so I always put it off as long as possible.

I've caught myself waddling lately. I don't know if it is because Jessica is sitting so low in my pelvis that my hips don't want to move correctly or what, but walking around too much is uncomfortable. Consequently I'm not getting the exercise I am supposed to, unless you count chasing after a very active 2 yr old for 14 hours a day.

I know I've been surfing on Ebay more than anything else, I've been trying to find myself a knitting machine. I have been hand knitting lately, but a machine would make so much more so much quicker.....

I'm so happy its the weekend.... this was the longest week so far. I'm feeling tired again, and sore all over - the pain in my side turns out to be ligaments stretching. My ankles are getting puffy!

Hope you're all doing well...........

Man does work suck! I feel like they are pushing me too hard so that I will quit or something. My boss is always asking me how much longer I plan to work and if I plan to come back after the baby is born. I keep telling her that I'm going to stay until I can't work anymore and she kinda brushes me off after that. So what does that mean? I don't get it.

I hope the rest of you are having a better week than me. I still have 2 days left on my work week before I get my 2 days off. i want to quit so bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talk about nesting, my poor dh! Today I have him running wires for a new connection for the TV/entertainment center so I can move it from one side of the room to the other. This entails quite a bit of work. We had to empty the entertainment center, all the equipment, tapes/dvds/cds etc. move it, clean it blah blah blah, now he is off buying new wires and stuff to reconnect everything. After we get everything back in there we have to get all the books and pictures off of the couch to put back in the bookcase (which also had to be moved) then move the couch around so we can see the TV, then I can move all my sewing stuff into the corner where the entertainment center used to be. All this work because I wanted my sewing area moved more out of the way. If we finish this today then we are moving on to dd's room to start painting (OK, he's painting, I just bring water and food) while he does that I'm trying to arrange the other room for dd2 and the baby. Everytime I turn around I find something else that needs to be done so I add it to the list. I've been buzzing around this house the last couple of days like a mad woman. You'd think the baby was coming next week or something!

with the help of my mil, i made a blanket the other day! we got some fabulous fleece from hobby lobby and satiny edging and made a nice big blanket for the three of us to cuddle under this winter (dh, me and the baby, not my mil!! lol).
i have to send it through the drier again to get some lint off, then i'll post pictures.
i think my nesting is manifesting itself in craftiness. i'm making jewelry and am getting ready to make some rompers and dresses for the babe. i'm also going to try my hand at making some dipes-- i hope i'm not getting too ambitious!

Wow the last few days have really been a roller-coaster! I posted a thread about it here. Basically, my pelvis keeps popping out of alignment. This cause me to have extreme pain and to not be able to walk, lift, or as in the other day, get out of bed! Ouch!! The chiropractor is helping some, but the only "cure" is to give birth. Luckily, I'm feeling a lot better about things today then when I posted yesterday.

I've been going to my chiro regularly as well, but I've not bene in THAT much pain.
I do have to be careful where I sit, I found if I sit on our couch, the pain in my lower back hip area is terrible!!! FOR HOURS afterwards.

I am seeing my chiro about once a week to once every other week. I had to do the same last pregnancy as well.

I hope yours gets better SOON.......... nothing as horrible as being "stuck" in a position, too painful to get out of. (that has happened to me before)

Hello everyone-
I haven't posted here in a few months. I am due 12/17 with my second. It's going to be a surprise AGAIN!!!! Its fun not knowing. I have a 1.9 m/o dd that is keeping her mommy very busy.
Sounds like the pain in the lower hip area may be the sacroiliac joint. I experienced severe pain in my right hip with dd and the chiro really helped as did my ob who also happened to be a DO. He did some gentle pressure on the hip and it really helped to reduce the PAIN.
Luckily this pregnancy I am not experiencing that much pain.
So far I am doing great on weight gain, no swelling, nothing to complain about, just watching my BP very carefully. Last time preeclampsia and a 3 day induction.
This time, proactive monitoring and use of a midwife. YEAH!!!!!

I am sewing quilts like a mad women. And forget about the cleaning. It's obsessive and annoying to DH

Well, I've been making diapers! I made one for a friend of mine who just had her second. And I have two more that I made for this one. I'm hoping to be able to make enough so I have all fitted diapers for this little one! I've been using DH's old shirts for the outside fabric. It's been a riot seeing his shirts transformed into diapers! We've been laughing about it a lot, but it saves a lot of money on fabric and the like. I've been using old towels for soaker pads, and some old ugly flannel receiving blankets that I got from the hospital with DD as the inside liner. I've been thrilled with them. They haven't been tested on an actual baby yet, though, so I can't speak to the actual absorbency of them. I'll have to let you know in December!

Christy,
I was wondering when you start a new thread tommorrow if it could look more like this:
November/December 2003/September issue
Maybe it's just me but whenever I look for it on the page I always pass it because I am seeing the "August" first and bypassing cause we're not due in August. KWIM??? I got to page 3 today to find this thread before I said "No, it cant be this far back" and started on page 1 again which is where it was.
Anyway, just a thought.

Oh I've done that - gone right past our thread because I saw AUGUST first........ :LOL

You probably don't even need to put the month (september) I'd say just November/December Moms, and then perhaps we should continue to create new ones the same - like when we get to a certain amount of pages...... 5 or 6 pages long ?

I just had to share - I had the coolest dream last night. The baby was kicking and I could feel his/her leg and recognize it as a leg. Then I felt the head and gently held him/her so that s/he turned head downward. I could see the baby inside while I did this, like superman-vision I could hear the baby's thoughts as well, though I don't remember them all. There was this monitor on the wall that was still red and reading "breech" and I thought 'why does it say that? The baby is turned now!' Baby was squirming a bit and I had the feeling that if I let go s/he would turn back. Then I realized that the face was facing toward me and that it should be facing backward toward my spine. So I gently spun the baby so this was true. when I did so, the light turned green and "all conditions normal," and the baby thought "Hey, this is comfortable. I haven't been in this position before." and I was stroking the baby's head from the inside trying to calm the Bean and keep him/her in that position. Then I realized that I was inside my body petting the baby's head and no longer outside and I started to worry that my cervix was open and that I had put my hand inside, but I checked my cervix and it seemed fine, so I never did figure out how I was doing that - I woke up! But it was really a neat dream and I'm hoping that it helped to encourage the little Bean to spin over.

Not that my midwife hasn't assured me that there's no reason to worry about the breech thing yet, but I worry anyway and am trying to visualize him/her turning and DH is talking to the Bean lower, trying to encourage him/her to move toward his voice.
