I just got her book vaxes A thoughtful parents guide...I have fliped through it and she seems like shes pro vax I am sure I need to read the whole book first before I think that<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/redface.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Embarrassment"> ...I know you all seem to like her book so I am sure I just need to get busy and read<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/winky.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Wink">

I didn't read her to be pro - or even on the fence - but I think she tried to make her book as balanced as possible. I think she did a good job - I agree that it's a great book for "beginners" because she explains things so well. I remember being a little impatient with her science coverage because I wanted to just get to the illnesses and what she thought of the vaccines themselves, but I was happy in the end that I read those parts. She explains WHY vaccines don't really work - why inhaling (or ingesting) a bacterium/virus is different from having it injected into the blood - so I didn't think she was pro-vax at all...

it is the book I most recommend to those who are questioning the issue.<br>
It has a lot of great resources all in one book, especially all the stuff towards the back.<br>
It really helped me as it gave me a very honest, mostly non-biased, perspective on both sides. It helped me to make my decision more on just plain common sense vs conspiracy theory. I give this book to family friends who are questioning me and our decision or if they are questioning what their own decision will be. I feel this shows them I actually do have a reason other than just trying to be different. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"><br><br>
i don't know what she classifies herself as but for me it led me to be anti-vax for our family.

I was complete confused as to her stance while reading the book, but came to the conclusion that a "naturalist" was probably anti-vax; I also have her book "Naturally Healthy Babies and Children". I believe that she only wants her readers to be fully informed; the book didn't cause me to want to vax.

I'm glad to hear it's balanced and provides a good explanation for beginners. I have it sitting on my shelf waiting to be read.

I have the book and was also confused on her stance. But it deffinetly in the end made me feel MORE comfortable with not vaxing.<br><br>
What other vax books are good reads?<br><br>
