Seriously. A nice ripe avocado has been all I can think about on several occasions now. The thought of it, sprinkled with fresh black pepper and sea salt, and drizzled with lemon juice, is enough to send me into a state of mania.

Right now I'm enjoying an entire avocado, diced up with an entire tomato, with the aforementioned seasonings. Heaven.

So what are you all craving these days? (Assure me I'm not the only freak).

You are not the only freak!

I also went through an avocado phase. I would eat them whole or in a taco (with nothing else in the taco). Then I hit a citrus phase and would eat 3 or 4 oranges at a sitting and sometimes I even ate the rinds.

Lately I don't have any super-strong cravings although Indian food has been tasting awfully good.

hmmm, I don't have any specific cravings right now (it was green beans a few weeks ago). However, my love for fresh fruits and veggies has been growing greatly and my aversion to processed foods and grains has gotten even stronger.

I have been starting out every day with a very yummy kale/flax/ banana smoothie. Keifer is just wonderful. Loving salads, cucumbers, cantaloupe (not in season, but I am compromising as it has tasted so good). I am seriously anxious for Tuesday as I have planned Pork Chops (from my organic grassfed pork in the frezzer) with a mango chutney to top it mmmmm. Also on the menu this week for breakfast is an Southwest Egg Pie (grain and dairy free) basically a quiche with spiced up sauteed bell peppers, onions, spinach, tomatoes, and hot peppers.

I'm so jealous! Nothing seems appealing to me anymore and cooking and eating are just a chore...:

Take out the salt and add in some feta cheese and you've got a nice snack.... YUM! DH thinks I'm a freak. I buy a 5 pack of jumbo sized avocados and eat a half of one every day or so, sometimes more.

I ADORE avocados (but it's not a pregnancy thing for me). I'm the only one in the house who will eat them, and that's fine by me! My favorite way to eat them is halved, filled with salsa. Just scoop out that deliciousness with some tortilla chips and I'm in heaven!

Pregnancy cravings .... hmm. None, that I can think of. I'm sick to death of watching my sugar & carbs, though. I don't really even WANT cookies/cake/crap, but the fact that I can't have it is making me crazy. How stupid is that? OH! The local chinese buffets have a couple dishes that I've been obsessing over -- black pepper chicken, and creamed spinach -- that don't seem to affect my bG levels (even when I eat 2 giant platefuls ). That makes me very happy.

Mangoes. Oh, I am loving them right now! They need to be just a little over ripe, though. So watching them sit on the counter until they are ready is just torture!

(This craving is still not as strong as a previous pregnancy's for grapefruit though.)

Oh my goodness. I just read all the replies, and now I'm craving avocado again, and there are none left! It's minus 18 outside, but I'm going to bundle up myself and DS, and get to the store for more avocados!!!!

Mmm....avacodos....I love 'em; but we can't buy Puerto Rican ones around here and my DH won't eat any other kind so I feel bad buying them. :p

I have been craving sweets a lot (even ice cream which I normally do not like at all!), but ironically I have also been craving salad and home made bread.

....I've already gained 5 more lbs than I was "suposed" to though so I am trying to indulge more in the salads than the sweets

Yummy! I love reading about food. After I write this, I am going to call my husband and ask him to pick up some mangos and avocados on his way home from the gym!

I have some food intolerances – wheat and dairy. I am supposed to avoid sugars and processed foods. Early in this pregnancy, of course, I started craving pastas and bread and sweets. I even had a dream that I was wandering around a castle eating delicious French pastries!

So, I have had to work with my naturopath to help with the cravings. Luckily, I have been able to reintroduce fruits and I can even have pasta every once in a while, but I know that I still have to be careful or I will get bad break-outs of acne and eczema.

I have really been loving chickpea flour crepes w/ vegan margarine, fruit smoothies w/ brown rice protein, peanut butter on millet toast, apples, and bananas. The bananas really helped with the leg cramps I had been having and my naturopath suggested that my cravings for pasta and carbs may be about craving quick energy foods. So, I really think your body does tell you what you need.

Oh man! I'm LOVIN' me some avocado these days!! I got a recipe for a layered dip, and I chose to add in avocado, lime juice and fresh cilantro. For me lately, it's been Mexican food all the way!!

I went on an avocado kick a few weeks ago too, and before that it was green apples, before that was popcorn... Now not much of anything really appeals.
