I'm going to a personal growth conference (which I'm very excited about) this weekend, but it means I'll be away from 8 to 5 from my 16 m.o. who still nurses about 4 times in that period (if I'm available). He won't take a bottle of breast milk. My mom will be watching him, so I think she can handle things.

I'm worried, however, about me. I'll bring a pump to the conference, but hope I'll have to use it only once. Any suggestions? Also, should I wear a tight or loose bra?

thanks for your help.

For the last few weekends, I have left my 11 month old DS with DH for the weekend days, while I go run my busniess at a Renainassance Faire. I am gone from 8:00 AM-7:30 PM.

DS will usually nurse 3-4 times during that time if I were to be with him. He has done very well while I am gone. He drinks water from a sippy cup if he is thirsty, and has solid foods too.

I don't have to pump while I am away, however I do wear a very tight corset all day long
It helps a lot to keep my breasts comfortable all day long, but when I take it off, I can't wait to get home!!! Ouch!

I would take your pump in case you feel the need to pump. You may have a let down if you think about your baby a lot!

Have a great time at the confrence!!!

I had to be away from my 25 month old son for two long days last month. From about 9 AM - midnight on Saturday and Sunday. He usually nurses 4 or 5 times during that time.

I didn't use the pump. There was no private place, and I didn't even drive myself that first day. (And I hate pumping!)

I did hand express over the toilet a few times both days. I'm sure I would have been uncomfortable had I not.

I really like the cotton Fancy Free bra that I wear. It fits well, but it stretches when I need it to.

Good luck! Have fun at your conference!
