there are 2 in my zip code. last time I checked (like a year ago there were none) I know that doesn't mean anything as maybe some just haven't been caught/registered. I am slightly skeeved out. The one street where there is one registered sounds familiar and I think it's close by but it's not on a map.

I read the above article and am shocked at yet another flaw in the legal system. Justice unfortunately sometimes is failed at being served in many cases....

Anyway, that's not why I'm chiming in. I just wanted to say thanks for the resource and also point you to an international organization who also provides the same type of thing... http://www.familywatchdog.us/

All the best

Me too. Because it doesn't distinguish from the 16 year old who had a 13 year old girlfriend and had consentual, but illegal, sex, versus the 16 year old who molested a 4 year old.

The way the law has recently been re written, a person does not even have to be convicted or even brought to trial to be placed on the list... Only accused. There are many many flaws as the way these lists are ran.

It's also important to keep in mind that even for those that would more reasonably qualify to a list similar to this: is that, the recidivism rate is only about 3 or 4% (lowest of ALL types of crimes) We should be worried about what/who we don't know about!

I could write a very argumentative essay on this but don't have the time and this is not the place. Please do some research before panicing - and spreading it most people are well aware by now that if they have suspicians about a new neighbor that they can look it up on their state's website.
