I've relocated to Victoria recently (WOOHOO!!!) and would love to connect with any other UCing mamas.

I know they exist, because I keep hearing snippets, but I can't seem to find any sort of way to FIND them!

: im fern.. i live in vancouver BC

im a 2 time homebirther.. both my kids births were very hands off.. but both ended up with shoulder distocia.. so im okay with the fact that i had a midwife there with me. i loved my midwife anyways..so it was more like having a very skilled friend there with me

my SIL (also an MDC'r) had one homebirth avec Midwifes and one UC. she is an amazingly strong woman! i hope she finds this thread so you can chat about UC..she knows lots about it and is very passionate about it too.

i was in the DDC after yours (nov.2005) and when jericho was born still i was so sad for you and your family. i just wante dto know that i thought about you a lot and i hope that you have healed and i hope this new babe brings you so much joy

She was there at my daughter's birth, too.

I had a wonderful homebirth here in our little East Van basement suite. I was practically in the water the entire time...95% probably. It was a very relaxed enjoyable time for dh and I.

Yes I am.

I had maggie the first time because I lived on SSI. I live in Victoria now.

I had a homebirth in Victoria. I had a great experience--also in a rental. I screamed like a banshee but I guess no one heard me! I did have a great midwife. If you want a rec, pm me.

I had 2 homebirths with Gloria Lemay, so that's as close to UC as it comes in temrs of having someone [email protected]!

Have you checked out the Birthlove website? I think it's Birthlove.com... I'm pretty sure you'll find some UC there.

Hi, In January we had our third home waterbirth, (second unassisted), here on Salt Spring Island. It was wonderful.

For our first child we had Gloria Lemay, She is amazing.

Ohmigod, what is UC?? I am a first time mum, had a homebirth in March, in Vancouver... and I think of my midwife as a an angel... To this day I am convinced she was born in an orchid, grew up drinking dew...( ! ) I couldn't think of anyone else that I would rather have had with me...

Can any of you ladies recommend a registered midwife in New West, Surrey, Langely that does homebirths and also has privileges at Surrey Memorial (in case of emergency) and Langley Memorial (in case I chicken out on homebirth, which I'm sure I won't!) Hospitals?

Hi! I had 2 homebirths with Anne Barkham. She has privledges @ both hospitals....(thou she is slowing her practice down alot)... thre are also some in Cloverdale that my friend had @ her homebirth earlier this month. I could get the names if you want. I also had Natasha Sara at my last one. She is in fort Langley and i think can deliver in those hospitals. i could look for her # if you want. She was awsome too. Let me do things my way and just was there incase

Mostly hung back unless i called her...which is what i needed
