what are tf sources of b vitamins? whenever i don't drink my kombucha for a couple days, ds gets constipated. taking a b vitamin works too, but the one i've been taking (<a href="http://www.new-chapter.com/product/product.lasso?-Search=Action&-Table=P_Web&-Database=NewChapter&-KeyValue=133" target="_blank">new chapter coenzyme b food complex</a>) is expensive. i'd like to get it from food, but i seem to be constantly low in b's. and they aren't really stored in the body right? so its not like i could just supplement for a while to build myself up.<br><br>
here's my list of b vitamin foods:<br>
kombucha<br>
raw milk<br>
raw yogurt<br>
meat?<br>
grains -i know b's are damaged by heat right? so how does cooking effect how much b's i'm getting? and how about sourdoughs or sprouted breads? do these contain more b's?<br><br>
on a side note- other than grinding your own flour, how do you get your vitamin e? i'm also taking new chapter's e complex, but again, it's so expensive to take on an ongoing basis.

A good source of vit. E is the sprouted grain crackers in NT. I just buy sprouted wheat berries at the HFS (I haven't attempted sprouting yet) and grind them in the food processor with a little salt, and then form it into crackers and dry them in the deydrator. Since they're raw, the vit. E is intact. My DS really likes them, though they're quite bland.

I bought them at Mother's Market in Orange County, CA. It's a big raw food store, so they have lots of stuff other HFS's don't. I'm racking my brain, but I can't remember the name of the brand... something sprouts company (very helpful, I know<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/redface.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Embarrassment"> ). Unfortunately I don't have any in my fridge to look at. Sorry!

Ooo ... I didn't know Mother's Market carried sprouted wheat berries! Do they all ... I am closest to the Huntington Beach location. I might have to go investigate this weekend. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngbiggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="orange big grin">

I go to the ones in Laguna Hills and sometimes Irvine. I would bet they have them at all of them, though. Some other cool things there: kombucha with goji berries, goji manna dessert raw chocolate sauce (to die for on ice cream), sea's gift korean nori snacks, raw jungle peanuts, Frenz eggs... ooh, I love this store! I always blow WAY too much money there.

Thank you Kvchavez ... I'll try looking online - don't rack your brain too much <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1"><br><br>
For the B vit ques... I think the best are whole grains, eggs, meat, organ meat, and dairy.

It'll be at least a few days until I find myself at Mother's again, but I'll try to remember to check out the brand and post!
