My daughter has had thrush basically since my milk came in, I only realized that the white patch on her tongue was it at about 2 weeks of age when it became worse and started spreading to her gums. I'm asymptomatic as of now, so I'm not sure how aggressively I should treat. According to one of Dr. Newman's handouts gentian violet and APNO is indicated when mom is in pain. I am using the Nystatin on both of us for now, plus vinegar rinses, but not sure at what point to incorporate the gentian violet, APNO, and grapefruit seed extract.
I'm also kind of freaking out the more threads I read about thrush because it seems like it just lingers on for so many people and is really hard to treat. Is this what happens in most cases, or does it usually resolve fairly easily?
