ds is 4 weeks and has little pimples all over his face. It doesn't seem to bother him...should I be doing anything about it? Could it be some sort of allergy to something?
My dd is 9.5 months old, and just started getting them about 6 weeks ago. They don't bother her, but really bother dh. I am always talking him out of popping them.
My DD had really really bad acne at 4 weeks. I posted about it even... I think on another forum though. Basically everyone said just wash her with water only, and it'll go away. It did! Smearing breastmilk all over her face every day probably helped, too, because it was mostly gone by 7-8 weeks.
to you if he looks anything like dd did when she had it. I was almost embarassed to take her out in public. She had it really bad in her eyebrows, where it turned into thick, yellow, oily craddle cap. Don't be surprised if he gets that, too; they are actually the same thing. It will go away soon enough, and you'll forget all about it (until someone brings it up here again
I went on a chocolate binge a while after DS was born- he got the 'acne' then. When my binge passed it cleared- could be something you're eating, could be coinsidence!?
DS had it for what seemed like forever! First they were red bumps, then white bumbs, then red bumps, etc. . .for a while. They are completely normal at this age--heck DS had them for about 7 weeks then all of a sudden it seemed they were all gone!
FYI - Sometimes a cloth that you may be using to wipe baby's face can also be an irritant. Just make sure that if you have new burping diapers that you wash them lots to soften them up. This happened to my cousin's babe and she switched to the burping cloths that her mom used when she was a babe and her ds's face cleared right up!
