I just read a news report about a baby who was 2 weeks old who died, and after the hospital worked on him and everything and pronounced him dead... he came back and is doing great! How wild is that!
As an RN I have discovered that children are just so amazing when it comes to stuff that would kill an adult or leave them completely brain damaged/disabled. Not all the time, but often.
I mean those poor kids who have siezures and have 1/2 their brain disconnected and **** are fine after a few months of theraphy! OMG!
That is interesting. Although, I do remember reading some birthing literature that described how in the normal birthing process, an infant's brain is not as susceptible to damage from oxygen deprivation (since infants are frequently deprived of oxygen during the birthing process). So maybe there are some protective effects even a few weeks after birth, that are still in place.
Yes, I had to change my "home page" because I couldn't take all the bad news anymore. I just started feeling like the world was crap and people were jerks. This website is just nice news. I can get all the bad news I want someplace else... I long for some happiness!

I'm glad I"m not the only one! People would ask me why I didn't watch the "news" and I would try to explain that I didn't really consider "stories only about the most negative aspects of humanity" to be true news.
