Share the dreams you've had so far about your baby, labor, whatever. I've had two so far.

In the first one, it started with me in labor in the shower. DH and I are thinking about going to a cabin for the birth and that's where we were. I checked my cervix and considered using my fingernail to try and break my water to get things going (I know that's stupid, I'd never do it in real life!) and we talked about blue and black cohosh. I then put on a robe and walked outside and a bunch of my family members were out there (people I haven't seen in YEARS) helping fix up the cabin. They were putting up a fence, fixing a broken window, and getting stray cats out of the cabin. I must have been in very early labor because it was at least 10 minutes without a contraction.

The second one I had just last night. We were seeing an OB, who apparently came to the house, and it was exactly my due date. He did an exam and was talking about how tight and closed my cervix was. As I was getting dressed, I overheard him in the other room talking to DH about how we'd just have to induce or do a repeat C/S immediately because the baby was HUGE. It pissed me off and I told him in no uncertain terms that we would not be doing either.

Weird dreams, huh? I'd love to hear some more!

I had my first dream about the baby a couple nights ago. In my dream I had already had the baby and it was a little girl with dark curly hair (like me!). I couldn't remember anything at all about the birth and I was going around to my partner, friends, the midwife, etc. and asking them questions about the birth. It was pretty funny. I asked my best friend if she was at the birth, how long I was in labor, and what position I gave birth in. It gets weirder because no one I asked had any information for me! It was strange for the baby to be a dark haired girl because my other children and partner have blonde hair and everyone thinks this baby is a boy.

I also had a dream recently in which I was trying to sit down later in the pregnancy and the baby did a big swoosh from one side of my body to the other. The baby moved so fast it knocked me off balance and sort of hurt!

I had one very early on. I was trying to wear him (was def. a boy) in my mei tai, and he kept wiggling back up my chest, wanting to nurse. He was SO pudgy and adorable. He had on a blue onesie, and a little matching blue hat, with dark hair. The other dreams I've had have both been about finding out the gender during an ultrasound, both times baby was clearly a boy.

I've had 3 dreams I can remember so far.

In the first I dreamed I had boy and girl twins vaginally in a hospital unassisted and everything turned out very well.

In the second I gave birth to a baby girl at home in my bed and breastfed her right away and there was no blood or mess. - (only in a dream :) )

In my third dream I had a newborn boy just suddenly appear in my life with dark hair and dark eyes. I couldn't figure out why I didn't remember giving birth and was asking my family about it. I was very concerned and disappointed. (sort of like a PP)

I'd have to say that my dreams are no indication of reality.

That last dream reminds me of my recurring baby dreams I used to have for several years before I had ds. I had these dreams where I was taking care of these babies that weren't mine, having to protect them from dangerous situations. They just sort of happened along my path, or sometimes they were with me through the whole dream, but I hadn't given birth to them, it was really my baby. The dreams stopped once I got pregnant with my own baby.

I had another baby dream last night. I have been waiting very patiently to be able to feel the baby's movement with my hands (still a long way off i know). In my dream I looked down at my belly and saw not just movement but the outline of the LO's hand pushing against my belly. It was really exciting and I started yelling for my DP to come look!

That dream reminded me of a dream I had recently and had forgotten about. It was very similar to yours. All the sudden I could feel movement inside my tummy and could see baby moving on the outside (like what you see toward the end of the second trimester) and had told hubby about it and told him how weird it was that it could be seen and felt from the outside so soon. I remember the dream felt so real.

I have had dreams about the baby but had 2 this week. The first dream I was with a friend from school (she died in a car wreck last week so it was a little disturbing to have a dream about her) and I had twins. At first I thought one of the babies must have been hers but they were both mine, unidentified sexes just twins. The second dream was a outdoor setting and twins again. I believe they were both boys this time because of the coveralls but I'm not sure. They were preschoolers this time though not babies. They were deaf though or at least mute because they had a voice box thing. It was really odd and I woke up almost in tears. I couldn't get back asleep or shake the feeling that the baby is deaf or something else must be wrong. I really found it odd though that I had 2 twin dreams in a week. I had an early ultrasound showing only one baby so I'm pretty sure I'm not having twins so I find it a little odd that now I'm having twin dreams.

I have been dreaming about this baby frequently. The most recent was last night. I dreamt that I was in my last few weeks of pregnancy and I had put my little boys to bed and gone to the bathroom and had some bloody show. My 3.5 year old woke me up at that point so I didn't get any further.

I've also dreamt that I was living in a super fancy house in California (weird I know) and we owned our own ultrasound machine (even weirder) and I was doing my own ultrasound and I could see that it was a little girl.

then, in another dream I was having an ultrasound and the doctor said it was a boy and then changed his mind and said "wait, I don't think this is a boy" but then my 3.5 year old woke me up and I didn't get to finish it.

I've also had non-descript dreams about being in labor at home (which was my first clue that I needed to have a homebirth)

This morning just before waking I dreamt that I was on a vacation with my whole extended family and the baby was moving so crazily it almost hurt. I saw my dead grandmother and thought, "She's going to die soon, it would be so special if she could feel a baby moving one last time," and was going to approach her to put her hand on my belly, but then the baby stopped and I woke up.

I haven't been dreaming about the baby or even about being pregnant. Last night however, I dreamed I was pregnant and at the mall. The Macy's here does not have a maternity section (Boo! Hiss!), but in my dream I was at a Macy's back home and they had a huge maternity section with lots of really cool trendy maternity clothes. When I asked the young sales girl to show me the maternity section she didn't know where it was, but brought me to what she thought was the Plus Sized section and it was actually maternity clothes (I let that one slide b/c she looked about 18). I was on the phone with my mom and looking at designer jeans and this funky fur vest (something I would never wear). I was really excited about how cool the clothes were, but I didn't buy anything (I love to window shop).

I had one that I'd given birth to a little girl at home who was very small. The thing that freaked me out was the cord, it was very thin and fragile (IRL I've been reassured that the cord is 3-vessled based on the u/s). Then it seemed like the dream changed and it wasn't my baby but the baby of my best friend's sister (who used the same MW group with her baby as I did with my 1st 2). While the baby seemed ok, the cord thing freaked me out until I saw what a cord that has allowed to stop pulsing looks like and I realized it was the same thing (with both kids the cords were clamped & cut rather quickly, probably too early).

My fave baby dream was with my DS. I dreamed that I delivered him early and while still attached to the cord we all took a good look at him to make sure he was ok and then proceeded to put him back up where he came from.

I had a sort of similar dream a few weeks ago. I dreamt that I was on a beach, at a resort, with a bunch of college friends, and I went into labor. I was sad because I knew it was too early for the baby to survive, but I couldn't stop it. Right there lying on this beautiful tropical beach, I gave birth to a little girl named Georgia, who died. But then I still felt a baby moving, and it turned out I was pregnant with a later (younger gestational age) fetus who was still viable. I was trying to figure out how far along I was based on how strong the movements were. I'm pretty sure this second baby was a boy. I was so sad over Georgia, but at the same time so relieved to still have a baby in there. For some reason your putting your DS back in there dream reminded me of that.
I hadn't had any baby-related dreams so far this pregnancy (though there have been plenty of other strange ones!) until the past week or so. Since then I've had two. In the first one, a doctor was telling me I would need some kind of intervention I didn't want because he thought the baby was too big. My midwife and I turned around to wash our hands and when we turned back around, a HUGE baby boy was sitting on the table next to us and I was ecstatic that I was able to have him without the intervention, even though I had evidently not noticed having him while my back was turned

Then last night I had a very confusing dream that had a lot of elements not related to babies or birthing, but in it I had a baby boy who had curly black hair and caramel skin (a genetic impossibility for me & DH!) and mentioned to DH that maybe the biological mom had been wrong about who the father was (even though I had been the one who just gave birth and I was keeping the baby - it was like it was some kind of bizarre mid-pregnancy surrogacy/adoption ). We decided to name him Cameron instead of the boy name we have picked out and I was worrying that it was too close to DS's name (which is Calvin). At the end of the dream I realized the birth had been so quick and easy that we never called the midwife, so I had my mom watch the baby while I went to get a phone to call our midwife and tell her the baby had been born.
