<p>Baby girl was born via cesarean at 10:42 on Thursday the ninth.</p>
<p>She weighs 4 lbs 7 oz and is 16 inches long. So just a peant, but we expected that.</p>
<p>She is in the NICU, she is having a hard time clearing all the gunk and fluid out of her lungs and is on a CPAP right now so whe doesn't weat herself out trying to breathe. She also is having a little bit of a hard time maintaining her body teperature and for now is under the warming lights.</p>
<p>Dr in NICU says she looks more like a 35 weeker than a 37 weeker. She really did have IUGR, though they don't know why. And although she is needing a little help, she  is doing great.</p>
<p>She will probably spend about a week in teh NICU.</p>

<p>It is very strange to be without her!!!</p>

She still doesn't have a name and there is currently some family drama surrounding that. UGH!</p>

<p>I am sore, but doing fine.</p>
<p>The surgery was straightforward with none of the potential problems actually happening! YAY!</p>

Glad you're both doing well! I can't imagine having to leave my baby in the NICU, that has to be so rough. I hope all goes well and she's home very soon.

<p>Hope she clears that fluid and starts maintaining body temps soon!! Try to get sone skin to skin time in when they allow it, rest lots and take care of ourself! Congrats!! And good luck with the name thing!</p>

<p>We have decided on a name (but not a spelling!)</p>
<p>Her name is Nora(h) Jane.</p>
<p>Family drama is ongoing and ppl are starting to say hurtful things. I have decided to stay out of it!</p>
<p>She is now doing a good job regulating body temp on her own.</p>
<p>Her chest xyrays still show quite a bit of fluid in her lungs. She is still breathing more rapidly than they would like, and without the cpap has to work too hard at it.. so the cpap stays for now.</p>
<p>Also as long as she is still fighting to breathe normally than she wont be able to feed orally. And they just started tiny bits of tube feeding.</p>
<p>I still have no milk and don't get much colostrum out at each pump..but I am keeping at it.</p>
<p>The neonatologist said that she was showing signs that my placenta wasn't working optimally and that is why her gestational age looks 2-3 weeks behind and her size is small.</p>

<p>I am definatly healing better this time that I was last time.</p>

<p>Congrats! I hope your little one gets better very soon. My son was due 12/27 and made his appearance early On November 20th. He spent 8 days in the SCN , so I know how hard it is to be without your baby. Hugs to you mama!!</p>

<p>My daughter (now 5) was born at 35 weeks, weighed 4 lb 7 oz, and spent her first six days in the NICU. I had to pump for the first three days but we were still able to establish a strong nursing relationship. I later learned that she was IUGR due to a blood clotting condition that I've always had but never knew about. In a few months, you may want to get some blood tests done to find out if you have a similar condition. </p>
