Well I thought I had my names all picked out even before I got pregnant, but once I was they didn't seem right any more. Now DH and I have got it narrowed down to two (at least if this babe is a girl). Which do you ladies think sounds better. And I know some think that 2 middle names is a bit much but it's a family tradition. If you picked other then please suggest away. The list of names we have been working from: Rowan, Makenna, Lorraine, Eleida, Raine, Mara, and Skylar.
Thanks for your input.

By the way I can't figure out how to edit my poll but Mckenna is supposed to be Makenna.

I love Mara, sweet, not overly used but still traditional. It's really close to my favorite unusable name, Maura (it sounds just crazy with my last name).

Do have a hunch that you'll be using a girl or a boy name this time around?

i love mara. i have a dear friend by this name

I voted for rowan. I really love this name (considered it for my first).. firstly because it is a tree and im partial to plant names, but also because all of the rowans I know are so lovely...and I know quite a few. Its a good name. and suitable for both girls and boys

Thanks for the replies. Anyone have any ideas for middle names that would work well with Mara? I like the name but so far I haven't managed to come up with any combos that don't just sound abrupt.

What about Mara Lorraine? or Mara Lorraine Makenna?

We have Lorraine on our possible middle name list, too. It was my mom's name, and she passed 4 years ago; i'd really like to honor her when naming this baby, if we can.

ohh I like that one. I'll have to run it past DH. Eleida Lorraine is my grandma's name, she passed when I was 12.

I've never heard the name "Eleida"--how is it pronounced?

I'm not a big fan of Mc-names or Makenna or any of that, too trendy lately, and the whole "son of" thing.

I like old names....if we weren't into a whole Arabic-naming thing out of DH's culture, I might consider Thalia for a girl--an aunt of my mom's...i just kinda like it,

but i also love a lot of dh's language-names and we've kinda started a trend even though I "americanized" DD and didn't realize how common Sophia had become since I fell in love with it about 15 years or so ago

Poking my head in from Dec DDC (due Dec1)... If you choose Lorraine, you could use Raine as a nickname. But I like Rowan a lot as well.
