hi all,
My ds is 5 months old and continuously has a terrible rash under his chin and all over his neck. I know that it caused by his drool and he spits up quite a bit. My dr suggested that I mix cortisone and antibacterial ointment and apply I have done this several times and it worked great. The problem is it keeps coming back and I really don't feel comfortable using this concoction over and over literally it would mean daily. I have tried putting a&d on it to protect the area but that didn't really help. does anyone know if I even need to be worried about the cortizone and antibacterial thing or maybe there are some natural remedies that would be be
tter. I haveheard that cortizone can thin the skin. hep!!!!

Could it be yeast? Ask your doctor, but my son had yeast in his diaper area and we were on vacation, I just bought some yogurt and put in on there several times a day until we got home and then I used Monistat.

The yeast rash looks like a really bad prickly heat. Hope this helps. Sears baby book has a couple of pages on rashes too.

thanks heather,
I am going to try the yogurt it can't hurt. This does look like a really bad prickly heat rash. and with all the moisture it would be a prime breeding ground for yeast. I need to get dr.sears' baby book. I have the discipline book ( I also have a two year old) . anyway thanks for the suggestion.
