Is this baby being nursed or formula fed? If the baby really isn't eating, either way, it's URGENT that the baby be taken to see a doctor immediately. If the baby is having medical issues the parents should not try to treat this themselves.

Also, 1.5 month old babies should not be "eating" any food - they should drink ONLY breastmilk or formula, no solids and no water.

Hmmmm . . . .do you mean that your baby is 7 and a half months old? In another post your children weer 6 months and 10 years old . . .

Perhaps we are misunderstanding one another, or you are asking about another mom's babe.

It's not usual for a 1.5 month old babe to have anything other than mama's milk (or formula ).

If a 1.5 mo old isn't taking in ANY food/liquid, i'd go to a doctor immediately. If breastmilk isn't an option, formula should be - even if the baby won't take a bottle, there are finger-feeding drip systems (we had to use one for awhile when our baby wouldn't successfully take breast or bottle). The digestive issues are most likely b/c the baby's system isn't developed enough to handle solid food.

Get the babe to a doctor ASAP!!!!!

Solid foods are completely inappropriate for such a young baby, and there may be a serious problem if s/he won't drink!!!! Even for 1 day at that age, no drinking at all can be very serious.

Please let us know how things go for them . . . .

No medecine will cure this baby of not eating.
A 1.5 month old needs to be on breastmilk or formula. It is going to starve to death or have severe health problems on just food.

Can you get your friend to take her baby to a doctor? Medical is free here in canada for those who cannot afford it.
Hospitals also offer free basic baby care couses that your friend may benefit from.
