This is one of my favorite parts of being pregnant. I just love thinking of new names for new little people.

Do you guys have anything in mind yet?

For a girl, I've got a couple that have been buzzing around my head lately.

Sophia Skye W
Jocelyn Sophia W
Stella ...... W

For a boy, this one is a lot harder. I want to have something that isn't super popular, nor super weird. DH and I had some strange names going on before we came to our senses and named DS Mason Gage.

Miles James W
Sawyer .....W <DH totally nixed Sawyer, but I still like it.
Ridge........W <our last name end with "ch" so I don't think this will work, but I like it.
Adding Camden and Asher
Griffin nn Griff
Coran
I scan EVERYTHING for baby names. Movie credits, books, baby books, websites, songs, cities.......

Hmmmm. I'm wondering if we can create a sticky so we can all keep track of names we like and add/delete? I'll always think up a good name and then forget it. I know I had another girl name to go with Sophia, but now I can't remember!

yay! nichole, your choices are all BEAUTIFUL.

ours are:
girl -
1. Margaret (Maggie)
2. Edith (Edie)
3. Audrey (H is lukewarm on this one, but he'll come around. JUST YOU WAIT.)

boy-
1. Henry
2. Charlie

We honestly can't think of anything else for a boy, and I don't really like Charles, just Charlie.

I've been contemplating a girl's name. Both dd and dh like the name Ruby but I want something more unique, natural and meaningful. Dh says "what's more meaningful than a precious gem?"

I might have to give in because nothing else has struck me, thus far, as right for us.

I love Audrey. I think it's a very classy name. We have some friends that named their dd that.

Henry is also cute. I couldn't stand it a coupla years ago when a friend was thinking of using it, but now I like it!
: Of course, we can't use it because then they'd think we told them we didn't care for it so we could steal it. (Not that they didn't use it just because we didn't like it) Another friend did name her ds Henry and it's just so cute on him.

I like Charlie for a girl. I think I would go with Charlize or Charlotte and then nn Charlie. Charlie for a girl makes me think of a hip, independent young thing.

Ooh -- I love talking about names!

I tend to favor more unusual names (DS is Sorin, DD is Halsea). We haven't really discussed names yet but are open to unusual suggestions. I like names like: Rory, Chapin, Hayes, Sebastian. I do like Charlotte. Hmm, I've got to start my list!

That's funny you'd say that because Malia is one of the names I've been thinking of. It is beautiful.

We've picked the girl name, but both DH and I believe it is a boy, and we haven't found anything that both of us like. I like unusual and he likes traditional names.

The girl name is Abigail Layne.

DD is Eirian Gail (AR-re-an) and she goes by Ari

Nice names! I have been tossing Layne/Lane around as a first name for a girl.

I agree, it's a beautiful name!
Is it pronounced MAH-lia or muh-LEE-uh or ...?

Yay!!!
I love reading everyone's names!!
Our girl name is pretty much set, but we're struggling with the boy names....
I'm also big on family names, so our girl name will be Eveln, after my H's late mom and some middle name from my side of the family....
Evelyn Cheri, Evelyn Cora or Evelyn Julia.

and for the boys... dunno...
maybe
Timothy Richard, Antone Richard, or Richard Hale.
All family names too.

This is the fun part...ok let's see.
We named the little girl that we lost Sophie Lucille.
Other girl names we like are...
Grace Lorraine
Audrey Elise
Eisley Marseille

Boy names are harder for us...mostly because DH is passionately opossed to naming our firstborn son anything other than his name.
: So it looks like it will be
Jonathan Matthew, II
but I also like...
Ethan
Caleb
Gage
Aiden

Right now, we have three boys and a girl so we are hoping this baby is a little girl...for no other reason than my dd wants a sister!
:

We generally name our babies DAYS after they are born...much to my family's chagrin!
I need to meet them and get a feel for them before naming them.

That said, I've always loved the name Katey, since I was a kid and felt kinda sad I never got to use it. I considered it for all my kids - clearly didn't need to use it for my boys, but my dd was just not a Katey...she is most definately a Victoria!

All my kids have pretty traditional names. I'd love to be daring and exotic, but our last name is awful! Makes any "unusual" first name sound like a cough and a sneeze when said together.

So my goal is to find a very cool, fitting name that I adore that has Katey as an obvious nickname. Marie is the middle name for sure, its family tradition. So far I have:

Katrah Marie
Katia/h Marie - just seeing it how would you pronounce it?

For boys, I don't have a name at all but I'm sure he'll tell us what it is after he's born.

This is SO much fun!

Our dd is named Emma, which we love, but apparently so did everyone else in 2004. We won't make that mistake again.

A boy will be Jackson Albert. Albert is after my grandpa and we really just like "Jack".

For a girl, I really like Jane or Margaret (Maggie). DH doesn't like either of those so we'll see.

I can't believe all of the names you all have been thinking about! Then again, we had Maddie named before we were even married. We just knew that was the name.

Here's some unusual names that I've heard and I don't think I can get DH to use:

boys:
Truan
Safin

girls:
Bergan
Beldaran
Brynn
Amyah
Briyah
Azure

DH likes Maeve. Something Irish like our last name and the others have Irish/French names.
I'd like Susannah as a middle name. That's as far as we've gotten.

We've never been able to find a boy name that we've both liked. Maybe it is a sign that we just aren't destined to have a boy.
