Just wondering if anyone has decided on names for their babies yet. We chose Justin Matthew and Amanda Sue. I am not finding out the sex until the Birthday. I am looking forward to the surprise. I would love to hear all of your baby name choices!

We've had our names chosen for a while. Brynn Amelia for a girl, and either Noah or Nathan James for a boy (probably Noah). We're finding out what we're having on June 30th and I can't wait! I don't know how y'all can wait until the birthday - I'm way too impatient!!!

We have really not been on the ball with names this time. We had a name for a girl from last time - Atabei - but I;m not sure if we still like it or not. I do. And we have nothing for a boy. So we shall see.
DH wants to find out at 20 week sono, but I don't want to. So we won't!

Right now, we call the baby Emerson. I am only 14 weeks; we are not finding out the gender.

Our name list is actually getting longer instead of shorter! Hee hee! Sample of some names that we like are Justice, Emerson, Grace, Solomon, Sasha, Mandela, Matilda, Cole, Cypress, Atif/a (Arabic for compassionate) and Annastasia (combo of Andy+ Stacy). MA and SC are our initials so we like that but are not stuck on it. Think it helps us narrow down the options.

We are taking the naming a bit too seriously right now, maybe. It's kinda hard to pick something that someone has to be known as for their whole lives. Oh, the pressure.

If it's a girl, it will be Maia, Miranda, or Meredith depending on who she looks like when she comes out.

If it's a boy... we're still fighting it out on the James Fraser issue. :eyeroll We're really hoping it's a girl an the whole thing is rendered academic until I get knocked up again.

I'm enjoying this thread even though I don't have anything to add yet - we're waiting until much later to decide (or my dh will just change his mind!) Of the latest posted I like Miranda a lot, and Charlotte, too - I hardly ever hear that name. Some boy names that I like that hubby doesn't want are - Charles, Oscar, and Syrus (sp?) - girl names are much much easier for us to agree on. I ***love*** the name Hattie for a girl, but we already have a Maddy and we don't want kids names that rhyme!

All that's left to be decided is boy or girl... and that's not up to me...

We're still struggling on boys names- this week I like Asher Uath, but Steve isn't keen. A girl will be Skye Selkie (and also a minor miracle...)
Alex (him who was born Xander, short for Alexander) would have been Maia short for Miranda if he'd been a girl. Kids, IME, find their own nicknames once they're talking- or at school.

We have a few choices, but are keeping them under wraps til the baby is here...I have to keep checking in with DH about them, though, because he's been known to change his mind completely about a name in less than 24 hours :LOL

liliesandliars--love your choices, btw. I've been trying to convince DH to use Beatrix/Beatrice as a middle name. So far, no luck!

Like MamaFern, boys names just dont sound right for this babe. I have strong girl feelings, but I am trying not to get too hung up on those, because I don't want to feel disappointed if a little boy pops out in November!

Our original girls name when pregnant with DS was Delaney Michelle, which has special meaning to me. I was named after a song (first name) and my 2 grandmothers names are my middle names. There is a Jimmy Buffett song about Delaney (his daughter) and Michelle is my moms name. (MIL is Jerlean and that just doesnt fit anywhere, so only 1 middle name :LOL ). But DH seems to have cooled on that name.

We both like Noelle (Elly) and I seem to have settled on Elisabeth as a middle name (my moms middle name). But I like Noelle Jillian as well. (I joked with my best friend that her "******* name" would be Elly Jill - DS's RN is Bennie Nat - benjamin nathaniel)

The only boys name that I can consistently like is Ryan, and Thomas sounds good with it. But it doesnt excite me, KWIM? Its just kinda there for me. But whenever I try to think of more boys names, I get that strong girl vibe. Vibe or not, we probably should have at least one good boy name in reserve!

Yes I love Beatrix too, so adorable!

Kel, have you also thought about Samantha or Carrie for a girl? :LOL (That's a Sex and the City ref, in case you don't get it. )

Gunter, I love the name Emerson, and it kind of makes me laugh - years ago, a friend and I put our names in this anagram generator (it takes the letters of your name and lists all the words that can be make from your letters) and his best anagram name was Emerson Piston, so I've called him that for years.
LiliesandLiars - did you read the Phillip Pullman books about Lyra? I love those books! After I finished them I was really in love with the name Lyra, but two syllable names don't sound great with our last name. But it is wonderful

I am also keeping names under wraps until the big day - and we are not finding out the gender. But listening to some of you talk about 20 week ultrasound plans make me jealous! It makes me want to find out what we're having. But, I must be strong, and DH would be really dissapointed.

Sigh....

Love these names!

We have had a boy's name picked out since we had our dd. Our dd is named for dh's mother and we kept the family name thing going with a boy name. The name is Joseph Dallas for both our maternal grandfathers. For a nickname I am thinking for T'Joe which means little Joe, but dh doesn't like nicknames. For a girl I am currently thinking of Lillian Rose with a nickname of Lili. Dh had a lovely comment on that one too saying no one would know that Lili is pronounced the same as Lily. I am having some second thoughts on that name though because I am seeing how popular it is becoming. I guess the girl name is still up in the air, but I feel this is going to be a girl. Hopefully we will get to find out which it is on June 15th and then we can get serious about figuring out a name.

sarahcecile - Yes, I've read Pullman's books. As soon as I finished book three, I knew I was going to use the name Lyra for a daughter. I'll definitely read the books to her, or give her the books to read, when she gets older.

As for the mn Beatrix... heehee... I think you ladies would laugh at me if I told you where I got it from. *cough* Kill Bill *cough*

flapjack - I love the name Asher! Have you ever read "My Name is Asher Lev" by Chaim Potok? It's one of my favorite books.

Lilies: Would you pronounce that "Lye-ra" or "Lir-a"?

I ask because our all-time first pick for a boy name was Rhys, but I wanted to pronounce it "Rye-s" instead of "Reese" and apparently that's just not on. I might have been able to talk myself into it if we were living in the US, but DH is part Brit and our intention is to ex-patriate within the next 5 years, and Rhys is rather unambiguously pronounced "Reese" in the UK. DH is sure our son would be teased mercilessly his whole life if I tried to go against the flow with this one. So now instead we get the "Great James Fiasco" !! :

Please, God, let this bebe be a little girl! :
