Baby scarf help?

I'm making the LTK snowflake hat for a shower on Sunday and I was going to do booties but surprise surprise I've run out of time and I won't be ablt to get booties done in time..

I thought about just making a simple little scarf but I don't have a pattern..How long/wide would a scarf need to be for a 6mo? Any cute little easy patterns? I'm using bulky HPY wool..Thanks!
