I'm going to a friend's baby shower Sunday and it's at a really nice hall. I have no idea what to wear. Dresses look really weird on me right now (22 weeks), it's too hot for pants and I'm worried capris won't be dressy enough. Does anyone have any advice?

I think capris would be fine if you had a nice top, or could dress up the outfit with some really cute accessories.

My standy-by dressy pregnant outfit is black capris, a black top, and some really funky silver jewelry. Plus I usually try to do something cute to my hair - a fancy clip or jeweled bobby pin.

not sure what your style is, but maybe do a long gauzy draw string skirt. you wouldn't have to worry about "dressing it up" w/ a nice shirt (could even wear a tee), because long pretty skirts totally hold their own, imo--maybe just add jewelry.

i stocked up on these recently (thx to a fellow MDC'er) (and the actual store has tons of colors) and i'm lovin' them (and plan to live in them the rest of my pregnancy. )

http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/produc...scid=752395002

I agree that capris can be dressy as long as they are made from a a more formal fabric (not beachwear) and paired with a matching top and nice jewelry. Add some sandals with a small heel and you're good to go. Because it's a baby shower, even if they've rented a hall for it, I bet there will be lots of women both dressed up and more casual. No one ever knows quite how to dress for something like that.

Have fun!

Yeah, and now I need one. Or several.
