I'm hoping she doesn't go blind...when I notice it I try to direct her eyes away. She looks at lamps, overhead lights, etc. a LOT. Anybody else's do this? And can they still see?

I don't remember my first baby doing this.

Mine does this too- I had just figured that she likes the contrast of the dark ceiling fan blades against the white ceiling, but now that I think about it, she could be looking at the light itself. I don't think she'll go blind because she closes her eyes when we are outside and it's mid-day, I think she knows how much is too much.

Of course, thus is coming from someone who stared at the sun all of the time as a kid, I probably have horrible retinal dammage.

Mine liked to do this too, especially fluorescent lights in stores. I used to worry about the sun, even though she wasn't outside very much at that stage, it doesn't take much staring at the sun to do damage. She doesn't really do it anymore, not sure why.

: I never had a problem taking the older three girls anywhere. As long as they could see lights, they were quiet and happy. I thought all babies were like that, to be honest!
