Edie is loving the Hug-a-bub.... I will love it a bit more when my belly shrinks a bit more and it fits a bit better . It was a bit expensive, but I don't feel bad about the price anymore now that this is my 2nd baby that I am using it with. I think once my husband goes back to work and i have all 3 kids to care for during the day alone, this sling will be absolutely a neccisity to getting anything at all done. For now it is nice because she can be snuggled right up to me and I still have my hands free.

I don't keep Hannah in the car seat much because she will just wake up and want to be in the sling so I usually just save myself the hassle.....

We've been using the Kissaluv sling.... They no longer make them anymore and I got it as a gift when I was pregnant with DD1, I wish they still did so I could get a different color! I tye dyed it to make it look somewhat better but still! This is my all time favorite sling ever! I have used the maya wrap a couple times and OTSBH and a couple my cousin has but... I my kissasling! Anyone else have this sling??

I just got my hotsling today, and our older two girls said, "Mommy, that is SO pretty! Baby Sam looks so cute and snuggle-buggy!" I also got a water sling, so now we're set for our trip to the beach in a few weeks!

I have a ring sling from Amys1st which is awesome and really nicely padded, and will be great when the weather cools off. Since I'm producing extra pregnancy heat, and Sam is a very hot baby, the Hotsling is perfect right now!

Ruby and I went to Target today (first time by ourselves!!!) and I used the new native. It was pretty good, although my belly was quite sore afterward. Then of course she got super cranky when we got home, so I put her in the Maya for a walk. I have a friend coming over tonight to help with some babywearing techniques.

So far, we have used the Mei Tai, a me made ring sling, and a me made pouch. Dh and I both love pouches, though Elliot seems the happiest in the Mei Tai - I think overall, it's the least confining for me because his little arms can dangle out a bit on the sides even though he's totally secure in there. I'm hoping that as he gets a little bigger and more body control, he'll like the sling and/or pouch too because he'll be able to look out and about. We'll see ... Oh, and he also seems to enjoy being worn more by dh, because when I wear him, he just seems to want milkies!!!

I'm using my Maya pouch, which I love, and then my mom's neighbor had a wrap made for me - I couldn't believe it, I was so touched, espeically since they're pretty durned mainstream...it's a lightweight purple stretch fleece with a pink pocket on the front. I admit I was a little intimidated at just wrapping and knotting a pieve of fabric around my body, but I tried it yesterday and DD seemed to like it even better than the pouch...and it was SO comfy! Unfortunatley, she had a HUGE spitup all over it so it's now in the laundry pile, but I think it's going to be getting a lot of use as soon as it's clean again!

I actually bet that the mama who made it is here on MDC, cause along with the wrap was a Mothering article "Car seats are for cars"...which I loved that she did that. I have to see if I can find the business card that was with it, and maybe track her down on the babywearing or WAHM forum and let her knoe how comfy it is.

I'm using my New Native & my Hotsling. Unfortunately, ds is sooo heavy (at least 12 lbs., I'll find out for sure tomorrow) and my back is still a bit sore, so it hurts if I sling him for too long. But it gets better every day.

I love my mayatie and I borrowed a kozy from a friend. I also have a mobywrap, but it's so hot here, I've kind of stayed away from it. So mei tais abound here. Love the high back carry, it's nice to have him close, but hands and front free to play with the girls more effectively

high back carry

My friend Nichol came over last night and helped us figure out some better techniques with the maya and the new native... andlet me say it makes a world of difference. I am so much more comfortable putting her in and out of it, and more comfortable wearing her! I thinkI like the new native a bit better right now, as it's a little easier in and out. If i were to wear her all day, i'd much rather have her in the Moby, but I'm still working that out. Hubs loves the maya.. and has mastered it pretty well in a cradle carry. next we'll try the hug carry! I just love wearing her, happier baby= happier mama! I even got a load of laundry put away, and the bed stripped... although I couldn't remake the bed with her on me.

I've figured out how to change loads of laundry, cook, do dishes, put laundry away, and eat while slinging Sam. And, after about 4 weeks of slinging, I just dropped food on her head tonight! That's a pretty darn good track record, I think. (Just a drop of ketchup, nothing too detrimental)

chiromama- please relax and let your body heal!! Stay seated and keep the baby close tomorrow. Let dh wear the baby and bring to you!

My sling has various meals on it that I have dropped. There is a soy sauce stain from our sushi the other night and several other things

Oh Amy. Just when I thought I could get back to eating my sushi, I turn up pg again! I'm so jealous! I craved it the entire time I was pg w/Sam!

You know, I was thinking reading about the other ladies here saying all the stuff they were doing that I felt like a lazy slob, The most I've done since I got home from the hospital is put away a basket of clean folded laundry and unload the clean dishes from the dishwasher... on separate days...then I remembered, "Hey! You had major abdominal surgery 10 days ago girl, cut yourself some slack!"

So I'm directing that comment at you, too! Glad you're gonna lay low tomorrow...and you should do the same for more than just tomorrow, give it a few days...I know it's hard, when you're used to doing things (that was honestly my main complaint this pregnancy, I felt "frail" comparatively since I usually do everything and anything I want to whenever I want to) it's so hard to force yourself to cut back, and you even feel guilty, huh?

Fortunately, DH is very domestic and has been picking up my slack for about a month now since I was put on modified bedrest...in a couple weeks I'll be back to normal and resume my own duties and I'm sure he'll be thrilled (we usually split things up anyway, so it's not like he'll won't be doing anything anymore)....and I'll be thrilled too - I know intellectually it's normal for me to take it easy for a little while longer, but it's still driving me nuts mentally and physically.

Please take care of yourself!!!

Korin, girl take a seat and rest

I wear Reese all the time. I do laundry, vacuum, cook, heck I can even pee when she is in the sling Just makes is so much easier. I have been using a ring sling I got from a kids resale shop. The mama's there make them and sell them. I have a maya too, but the material is so thick it's to hot to use it right now. I have a Mei Tai but haven't had much luck getting her in there good. I think once she gets bigger.
